Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my STUNNING, BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, baby girl!I'm kidding (sort of!) ....it's my 2005 Porsche 911 S Carrera (997), with 43600 miles (may increase slightly as I may drive her on nice days before winter storage) I bought this dream car in April 2013, from a dealer in Chicago. She had 29536 miles on her. I bought a 36-month, 36K miles POWERTRAIN WARRANTY for her before taking delivery, as I'd heard about the IMS bearing issue that can affect some Porsches, and wanted the peace of mind. Immediately after driving her home from Chicago, I took her to Munks Motors (an old-time Euro/Porsche service shop who I trust to work on my cars) for a full top-to-tail INSPECTION to check everything out. She came out very well (they found a nail in one of the rear tires, which I had repaired). This car does NOT have any issue with the IMS that I am aware of. I check the oil filter every change, and there is no evidence of any issue, and no weird sounds from the engine. I drove the car daily as my (summer time only) daily driver to work and back. I live off the I-96 and my daily commute is all highway, with occasional slow-downs for traffic. As anyone who knows Porsches understand.....it's far better to buy a car that has been driven REGULARLY and has not been a "garage queen!" The car has been MAGNIFICENT! I absolutely LOVE driving this car. It drives perfectly straight, the steering is extraordinary, the power and engine response is unbelievable, and the suspension is fairly comfortable in the "normal" position. (It has the switch for "Sports" setting, which stiffens the suspension and adjusts the throttle response quite dramatically.) I have never taken the car on the race track. Never red-lined the engine. I drive it carefully and allow the oil to warm up before revving her hard. I change the oil twice a year, even though she has factory recommended 20K mile oil change intervals. The oil has now been changed three times since I had her, in the 15K miles, so averaging 5000 miles per oil change instead of the factory 20000 mile frequency. I use ONLY Porsche A40 spec (full synthetic for Euro cars) - either Mobil 1 0W-40 or my preferred Pentosin 5W-40 synthetic, which is a German oil that is also A40 spec. The car has been 100% RELIABLE except for an alternator issue, which was replaced last year, and has a 5-year Bosch warranty on it, with a free tow-in service in case of issue. I have performed any and all maintenance on the car as she needed it. The only thing that has needed replacing, other than the tires, is a left, front, suspension sway bar link, which had a rubber bushing that wore out. I had Munks Motors replace the link with both rubber bushings. I have all the SERVICE RECORDS for the car since I took delivery of her, in a file. I also have the power train warranty for inspection. The warranty is TRANSFERABLE to the new owner, for $50 admin fee. The GOOD: The car is a beauty! She is mechanically perfect (in my opinion). I am not aware of any mechanical issues with this car. I would hop in the car tomorrow and drive her across the country and back, with ZERO worry! She has BRAND NEW tires, as mentioned. She has had an oil change (Pentosin A40 synthetic) with a new factory OE filter, last week. She has an ENGINE + TRANSMISSION warranty which is TRANSFERABLE to the new owner for $50 admin fee. The AC blows ice cold. All electrics work perfectly. I have had the Radio/CD/Navigation PCM unit updated to the latest Porsche firmware, and the latest Porsche Map DVD installed (2013) The seats, mats and interior plastics are in excellent shape for a 9 year old car. No tears, no visible wear marks. The BAD: In the interest of FULL DISCLOSURE, I need you to understand that the car HAS had some paint work done on her. It is apparent that she had some issue or scratch along her right hand side (with the previous owner) and has had some paint work done along the front fender, the door and the rear fender. This was obviously done very well, by a professional shop, with OE paint and blended in as appropriate. The repair is visible only if you look very closely at the door sill on the right side (passenger side) - where you can see a faint paint line along the inner sill of the cabin when you open the door. I have tried to get a picture of this for you to look at - although it is not easy to see with the naked eye and the camera barely shows it. The hood and the rear engine cover have not been painted/repaired. NOTE: The paint is shiny, looks like OE to anyone not a professional body shop tech, IMO. I also parked the car at a golf club last year, and found a large ding in the sun roof from a golf ball when I returned to the car! I took the car to the local Porsche dealer (Suburban Imports, in Farmington Hills) and they suggested I use their authorized body shop, to repair the ding. They removed the sunroof, repaired the ding and painted the repair with OE matched paint and blended it into the roof itself. It was not cheap, but the repair is perfect to my eyes. Please NOTE that if you are the type who wants a Porsche with PERFECT, UNTOUCHED, OE PAINT, then I suggest that you do NOT bid on my car! But, if you are the type of person (as I am) who wants to drive a mechanically sound, fast, gorgeous, beautiful, well cared-for, well-maintained, Porsche WITH the peace of mind of a good and recommended Powertrain warranty, for a lot LESS than the KBB or NADA book value - THEN you should be VERY interested in my baby! BOOK VALUE: The NADA retail value (without warranty!) is $43250.The KBB retail value (without warranty!) is $37733. My reserve is substantially BELOW the KBB value, because of the paint work that was done on the car, and DESPITE the fact that the car comes with a POWERTRAIN warranty and BRAND NEW TIRES! REASON FOR SELLING! My wife and I are getting ready to retire, and I have promised to down-size and sell some of the "luxury" things that we don't "need."If there was any way I could NOT sell my beautiful 911S, I would do so, but I promised my wife, and so it must happen! I have HIGH RESOLUTION PICTURES and VIDEOS of the car, the Service records & WARRANTY here: Pictures here -------->>>> https://flic.kr/s/aHsk5ym88e Video here --------->>>> https://flic.kr/p/q2Wh55and here --------->>>> https://flic.kr/p/q2Wh6h
