Vehicle Detail
This 1964 Chevy 2WD 1500 short bed has spent its entire life in California. The body and frame on this truck are solid and it looks awesome. This truck is a good runner driver and it gets attention while on the road. THE BODY- I bought this truck 2 years ago after sitting since 1992 inside a where house protected from the sun and rain. It had only one paint job its whole life. It is a very good example of a true California native. The body on this truck is in over all good condition and this truck is straight while looking down the sides. The floor pans look clean and solid. The fire wall is in good condition and has not been cut up or beat on and there are no rusty spots on the driver’s side or passenger side in the upper corners of the fire wall. The rear bed panels are original to the truck and overall they are in good condition along with the stake pockets there is no old repairs coming through. The inside of the bed and the inner fender wells are also clean and the bed of this truck was not abused and the tailgate is not beat up. The original doors are in good condition they are not rusty they look clean. Both the front fenders are in good condition and there is no rusty spots down low. The passenger side inner fender wells also shows no signs of rust same with the driver’s side they both look good. The original battery tray is intact and it is not rotted out. The radiator support is also original and shows no signs of rust and will not need to be replaced. The outer rockers are solid and shows no sings of rust same with the cab corners. The inner rockers and body braces are also solid they look good. The windshield pillars and upper windshield area both outside and inside are rust free and are in good condition. I removed the original rubber floor mat and put POR15 on the original uncut floor. It had a small amount of rust at the bottom of the kick panels where it meets the floor. I sealed that with POR15 as well. Behind the inner windshield rubber across the top is also dry and is not rusted out. The top of the metal dash down by the windshields rubber is in good condition and still is not rusty or water stained. The hood is straight and is not bowed it fits well. The original hood hinges are in good condition and are not sprung. The rain gutters are all solid along with the roof. Overall the body on this truck is in good original condition for being a 1964 and while looking down the sides it is strait. This truck was painted once in the 1980s. This truck did have a sun roof at one time. I took it to a professional body shop and they cut the top off another truck and did the repairs right. At that time they also took care of some bubbling at the bottom of the fenders and repainted the top of the hood. The bottom side of this truck is not rotted out or full of under coating it is apparent when looking underneath this truck. This truck has all its original GM panels and is not a bondoed up mess. This truck is a cool look and it gets attention while on the road. THE INTERIOR- The inside of this truck is clean and presentable and is in good condition. The seat has been rebuilt. The original gauges are in tact and working good. The aftermarket steering wheel is in good condition. It has new Carpet and door sill plates. THE MOTOR- This motor is a 1992 305V-8 with all new accessories, New Starter, Rebuilt Alternator, New intake, All new gaskets and seals, New or rebuilt A/C compressor, Water Pump, and Power steering pump. All new rubber hoses. This is a good running motor that has good power and it is not a leaker or smoker. I average about 18 MPG. THE TRANS - The trans shifts good and is in good working order and is not a leaker. New pan gasket and filter. New torque converter clutch relay for fourth gear lock up.
