1965 Pontiac GTO This is a "TRUE GTO" 5N Code Car! FACTORY HOTROD Ordered With The High 360 HorsePower 389ci Engine with The Tri-Power Intake and a Manual 4spd Transmission WITHOUT Any of the Power Decreasing Amenities.(AC,PS,PB,PW) The Car was also Ordered in the RAREST Color Option of That Year, "IRIS MIST", with an even rarer interior option of black. Unfortunately, I recently injured my back at work and will be on medical leave for the next few months. Due to my job being in the oilfield industry, my pay will not be matched, therefore I am forced to sell this dream. The car is currently in a very secure and weatherproof storage unit in the DFW area. I do have the vehicle for sale locally and for this reason I Reserve The Authority To End This Auction At Any Time! I WILL ONLY SELL THIS CAR TO SOMEONE WHO HAS EVERY INTENTION OF RESTORING IT BACK TO THE PIECE OF AMERICAN HISTORY IT ONCE WAS, & DESERVES TO BE!!!! If you intend to chop it up, split it up, or drastically modify it, Please Find Another Project!!!! I have had Numerous GTO/LeMans Drivers & Projects in the past and have become a DIEHARD GTO FANATIC!! But this car needs to be restored to its Original Form the way GM Intended It To Be!! It's just too rare of a car to be done any other way! The previous owner had the car PHS Documented years ago, but could not find the paperwork when I purchased the car. I have not gotten around to ordering them, but the car could very well be a holy grail GTO due to the rare color and options it originally came in. Mileage on cluster is 98,283. I am not sure if this is mileage or not, but that's the only lead I have and best guess I can make. ***PLEASE READ***Included with the car is almost everything pictured! The Pontiac 389ci Engine has been machined and shortblock is all together. In the picture, it looks complete, but it is really just sitting with all the parts on it(not torqued). It is a YEAR & MONTH Correct Engine Complete minus the 455 heads that are on it. The heads should be replaced with the year/engine correct heads. The previous owner told me it was built to original spec. Everything as far as THAT motor is included down to the plugs and wires. The TRI-POWER INTAKE IS REFURBISHED, COMPLETE & PR-TUNED. The Engine hoist, other bare block, set of heads & 4bbl Intake setup in the picture are a 400ci THAT IS NOT INCLUDED!! Everything else pictured in the storage room is included with the sale. 1965 GTO CONDITION: The car is extremely straight especially for its age! Just about every panel, body line, and gap are perfectly aligned. The car does have rust in both floors that has worn through the floor boards under the seats. There are two BRAND NEW FLOOR PANS INCLUDED! The other main spots are around the front windshield & rear window. I do have several pieces of window frame from a donor car that are included with the sale if you should want them. Along with those patch pieces is another near complete chassis from a 1964 Lemans, with the VIN Plate and a Clear Title. This can be taken as a gift if you would like, but if not, will not change the final sale price. Please Note that the Original Rear from the 1965 GTO is currently installed on the ’64 chassis. The ’65 has a Rebuilt GM 10Bolt under it right now. Overall there are very few trouble spots(rust holes/dents), the main spots were noted above, and even with those, there seems to be a good amount of strength still left right at the edges of the rust. Basically, its “rust without the rot” if you’ve been around a lot of restorations. Please email/call with any questions! Several people infomed me that you can get a faxed portion of the information ordered, so i did so & will include the full packet from PHS when it arrives. (I will ship at my cost if after pick up date) I just recieved the faxed portion of documents which states it was ordered w/ 4bbl Intake, and does not have the tripower box checked. I dont feel like the previous owner, who was a serious collector would lie about that one option, especially since he said he had already obtained the documents, so maybe when I recieve my full packet, more info will be obtained. I DO HAVE a 4bbl Intake & Carb that are original that I WILL INCLUDE due to my mistake.I have also lowered the Reserve a little to try and make up for this mistake.
