Vehicle Detail
Thanks for looking at the listing for my 7-series. The car is a Non-Smoking, No Pets, Non-Accident, Non-Modified, Adult Owned and Adult Driven company executive vehicle. If you’ve seen some of the other examples of the 7-series for sale, then you know what I mean. This my personal business car and I have really enjoyed entertaining clients with its limousine-like atmosphere. How many cars have foot rests, heated seats, climate control and electric sun shades in the back seat? Passengers are always pleasantly surprised. As plush as the back seating is, things get even better up front. As a driver, the 7-series made my business trips much more enjoyable with its smooth, compliant ride and comfortable environment. The front seats are heated, air conditioned, have a massager and are 18-way adjustable. Very comfortable! The Harmon Kardon Logic 7 system is simply amazing. There are too many speakers, woofers and tweeters to count. I’ve heard subtle nuances in songs that I’ve listened to for many years, yet I didn’t know they were in the song. Yes, there are a lot of gizmos and creature comforts, but make no mistake; it is a BMW underneath it all. The 745Li is the longer version of the 7-series (the ‘L’ in the 745Li stands for Long), but handles the turns like a much smaller, nimble car. That 325hp V8 makes short work of any hill or passing lane. The 4.4L N62 engine was one of first Direct Injection engines out there. There is a whole separate manual included with the documentation. Why it matters: Gas Mileage. This car pulls in an average of 22 MPG which is great for 4500-lb vehicle. I once managed 27 MPG on a traffic-free 500-mile drive on the highway…not bad at all. I wasn’t looking to make a statement driving BMWs flagship model, I just wanted comfort and performance, but it makes a statement anyway. I never ask (and I never demand it), but don’t be surprised when the valet parks your car right out front of the restaurant. It’s the small things with owning a car like this, but you just get treated nicer for some reason. Many people are unfamiliar with the 7-series BMW and mistake it for a new one. I keep it maintained and waxed frequently. The leather (and there is a Lot of leather) gets cleaned and conditioned every few months. The 19” wheels were recently restored by a shop that does wheels for a living. They pass for brand new. New tires have been installed and they really frame the newly refinished wheels nicely. The car has been maintained by Otto’s BMW in West Chester. I recently had it in to Otto’s service center to address a few items that I felt needed attention. They always do great work. I have all the original manuals and the vehicle is current on its service and inspections. Word of advice: If you are looking at similar cars, pay close attention to the pictures of the map display. This will help you spot a problem a mile away. Make sure that you can see the whole screen (not a blurry picture and not just the bottom 90%). On the other cars, if you see a symbol of a Yellow car near the top of the screen, it might be a minor maintenance item, errant message or a legitimate service warning. On the other cars, if you see a symbol of a Red car, it may be a majorly overdue maintenance item or it might be something serious. If you do not see ANY car symbol, as in my screen, you are good to go. I’ve gone further than most sellers; I have posted a picture of the Message Center, opened up the Vehicle Check menu and ran the Vehicle Diagnostic. It passes the check. I took pictures to prove it. There are NO FAULT CODES to report! That speaks volumes. Go ask another seller to drill down to the Vehicle Check menu to run the diagnostic program. It will tell you a lot about what is going on with car. Observe that none of the other sellers are doing that. Maintenance is important on any car and it is doubly important on a BMW. The cruise control does not respond, but the rest is all good. A lot of items have been addressed recently as they are commonly ignored by many other owners: A new BMW AGM battery has been professionally installed and the battery program was reset (that’s right, the computer needs to know about the new battery). The Guibo joints (it is a fancy word to describe a rubber donut) on the drive shaft has been replaced to quell any drivetrain vibration. These are normal wear items. The lower thrust arm bushings and thrust arms were replaced. The thrust arms contain oil-filled rubber bushings that are routine replacement items needed to keep front suspension nice and tight.A new set of 8 Iridium four-point spark plugs installed.New belts and tensioners.New fuel filter.New tires.New synthetic transmission fluid and new filter.New vacuum pump.New floor mats…why not, life’s short. The on-board maintenance program shows that the brakes, filters, and inspections are good for many more miles. This car is ready to drive! I’ve looked at all the other 7-series for my year on this site and I am confident that my car is only one that you’ll want to buy. I have over a hundred pictures but I can only post 24. I'll be glad to send them to you if you need them (or see the link at the bottom of this description). Why am I selling a car that was just updated on all its maintenance? I guess I’m just ready for something different. I am a restless car guy and I like a change of wheels every so often. I’ve enjoyed this car for three times longer than any other vehicle that I’ve ever owned, but I am ready to try something different. The 7-series has spoiled me for any other car, so I don’t know what else I would want to own. It should be an interesting adventure. I hope to see it go to a good home. Please ask all questions before bidding. I have tried my best to give you all the details, however (as with anything mechanical) I am unable guarantee anything as complex as a German luxury car. As happy as I think that you will be with the 7-series, the car is sold as-is. Let’s make bidding a fun experience for both of us. Please have all your funds secured before bidding. I will ignore all scams and low-ball offers. I would prefer to let the bidders set the price. Bids are a legally binding contract; I will report non-paying bidders to EBay. I have the clear title in my possession and will not release it (nor the vehicle) until all funds have been cleared. If you are having the car transported, I will work with your transport company during pickup to make sure that it goes smoothly. Have fun bidding and thanks for looking.
