Vehicle Detail

Gorgeous 1987 BMW e28 up for bidding. After 3 years of restoration, this car is one of the finer examples out there today. I have replaced too many parts to possibly list here but would be more than happy to discuss them if interested. This is my daily driver and runs wonderfully, but with my family getting bigger it is time to step it up. This car needs nothing at all. Use the "Buy It Now" option and I'll throw in my '87 BMW 635csi. This e24 was to be my next project and has an amazing amount of potential but I just don't have the time. It has a ton of new parts and runs extremely strong. You can be drive it home with no worries. It just needs some cosmetic TLC. Front seats are rough, dash is cracked and the clear coat on the hood, roof and trunk is virtually gone. No rust on either car. With that said, she is the perfect candidate for a small restoration project. The e28 is out of this world nice for being 27 years old. This is a BMW collector's dream. You are bidding on the 1987 528e. The 635csi will only go to the person who uses the "Buy It Now" option. If you are interested in just the 635csi let me know because I will be parting with it as well. Let me start with the 1987 BMW 528e. I started with an e30 (1990 325i) complete cylinder head and added new head bolt set (Torx), head gasket, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, valve cover, valve cover breather hose, valve cover gasket, air flow meter, air flow meter boot, ECU, fuel filter, feul pump, fuel pressure regulator (3.0 bar), idle control valve, idle control valve hose, intake manifold, intake manifold gasket, throttle body, throttle position switch, catalytic converter, exhaust, oxygen sensor, distributor cap and rotor, wires, plugs, reference sensor, hoses, vacuum hoses, thermostat, temperature sensor (coolant and water), water pump, fan and fan clutch, steering fluid reservoir, relay switches and fuses, front seats, hood emblems, stereo, speakers, floor mats, steering wheel and shifter knob. I have put Bilstein shocks and struts along with Bavarian Sport springs on her which lowers her about 1.25 inches from stock which gives her a sexystance. Other than those things, I just gave her some TLC and daily doses of driving. This car is not perfect for you if you are looking for a 2015 BMW in showroom condition, but if you are looking for a gorgeous, head turning, 27 year old classic then this is one of the nicest BMW's you will find still in existence from this era. Again, I drive it everyday with a mix of interstate cruising and back road handling and she does it everyday without fail. Now, the 1987 BMW 635csi is an interesting story. I flew to Norfolk, VA this past summer to pick this one up and I brought it back to Morgantown with the intention of getting it into the condition the 5 series is currently in, but spare time has been quite rare for me recently and I just didn't have time to dig in and get it done. What I did do is replace the ECU, fuel filter, feul pump, fuel pressure regulator, distributor cap and rotor, wires, plugs, reference and speed sensors, hoses, hood emblems, thermostat, thermostat housing, temperature sensor (coolant and water), water pump, water pump housing, fan and fan clutch, and replaced the 14" basket weaves with 16" BBS wheels. The 6 series runs very well and is quick as all get out but it needs cosmetic work. This would included replacing (or re-upholstering) the front seats, re-upholstering the dash and rear speaker covers and a new paint job. The clear coat is gone from the hood, roof and trunk but with the champagne color it is less noticeable. What I was going to do was to get it painted (red was the color I really wanted), re-upholster the dash (video on YouTube has a very efficient and cheaper way of doing this) and replace the front seats with aftermarket seats (about $700 for the nicer racing-style ones) and then I would have a sweet 6 series which in my view is one of the sexiest BMW's ever. However, I have a wife, 4 daughters (youngest being 16 months old), a new house that needs work, a 1985 Ski Nautique boat that needs work, and a job that has become extremely time consuming as of late, so I guess I am spread too thin to take this project any further. The reason I am selling my baby and the 6 is simply to put myself (and my family) into a more family friendly car. I'm 43 with a wife and 4 kids and I have been told that maybe it's time to start acting a little more my age and get something more up-to-date. Lol. So, to make room for my next BMW I promised my wife that I would let go of these two. I just hope and pray they go to someone who would see them for what they are and for the potential they possess. Also included in the Buy it Now price is 4 brand new, never mounted Nokian Hakkapeillitta R2 snow tires that will fit ob either car. ($700 additional value). Good luck bidding.
