1965 1966 Mustang Fastback Coupe Conversion 289 C / A Code Title Extended Picture Gallery: http://66mustang.foliohd.com/view/6yQ#eQTN Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csg0AorNuT0&feature=youtu.be Here is a 1965 / 1966 Mustang fastback. This car was made from the chassis of a 1966 C code Mustang and converted into a fastback using the roof and complete interior from a 1965 A code Mustang. In the sale I will be including both titles, but the car is currently titled as a coupe and is in my name as an Ohio title. The A code title from the fastback came with the donor car as a proof of purchase and that is all I am including it with the sale as. It goes with the car to show where the roof and parts came from. I’ve owned this car for around 10 years now and it’s seen a lot of work in those years. I bought the car in high school as a coupe and later converted it into a fastback with the help of my father who has done his fair share of conversions. Walking past this car you would never know it was a conversion unless you looked at the inner fender VIN number. Hopefully you can appreciate how well the conversion turned out from the pictures posted. It could fool even the most serious of mustang people. When I bought the car the previous owner said the engine had been rebuilt but I have no proof of this. The engine does run great and I posted a video on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csg0AorNuT0&feature=youtu.be I recently re-clear coated the car which remains in its natural finish. So there are a few little runs and the finish has orange peel. As with any paintjob, if you want it perfect you’ll have to block sand and polish. This car is not showroom perfect, but its very nice. This would be a perfect cruiser to weekend car shows and driving around town to get compliments. Back when I drove this car daily I got compliments daily so it is an attention grabber. As said… the paint is nice but it isn’t perfect, don’t get me wrong it is very beautiful but it isn’t a perfect trailer queen car. It is one hell of a nice driver though. There is no rust on this car. This car comes with an original rumble pack (tach and clock) which works and is shown in the video. This, if I remember is a pretty desirable piece. The speedometer works as it’s mechanical, but the other 4 small gauges don’t work and I’ve been told it’s due to a voltage regulator on the back. I’m not an electrician, I’m a body work guy so I’ve left it alone thus far. It has an emergency blinker switch in the glove box that also works. The interior was completely redone as well which looks amazing in the 1965 bright red color scheme. The seats were re-padded and re-covered with new vinyl, carpet was new, and headliner was new and turned out very well. New door rubber as well as almost all other rubber around the car. Tail light bezels and lenses are a few days old (just bought). Oddly though my doors have different window cranks and could be matched if you felt compelled to do so. I recently purchased new sail panel lights (inside quarter panel) but have yet to hook them up. The car is an original C code 289 2V automatic. As said, the car runs great and idles fine (watch video). The car drives fine, but I believe the torque converter leaks slightly from a seam or maybe the cork oil pan gasket, so that could likely be changed at some point (70 dollar part). It was for a while my daily driver to and from school when I first restored the car. The brakes at that time were completely redone with a dual master cylinder for safety and all new slave cylinders. Brakes still work nice (manual). The coupe chassis when I got the car was very clean compared to many, many others I looked at. Very minimal rust and I only remember patching a few small holes. Unfortunately it does leak rain water from under the dash as do many mustangs of this era. They sell many “fixes” but for many years it lived inside away from the rain. The coupe has around 66,000 miles and the fastback had 89,000. The tires are starting to show age, but are in fine operating condition. I’ve tried to list all of the bad about this car as to give it fair representation, but I very very much encourage you to come look at this car if you can. It’s the only way to get a true feel of this car and I am open to local sales. Overall it is a beautiful car and a great attention grabber! Don’t waste my time and I won’t waste yours. Any questions feel free to ask, serious bidders only. I’m selling to pay for my final year of college and I am not interested in trades at all, and will list locally if it does not sell on ebay. Also don't let the new 0 feedback scare you, I am not asking for deposit money but must be seen and paid in full within 7 days or it will be relisted. If this is not sold due to 0 feedback score, I may relist under a relative's Ebay account with over 20,000 positive feedback next time. Good luck on bidding!
