Vehicle Detail

1967 911S: Original, Unmodified, Unrestored, Unwelded Original light ivory paint, black leatherette interior. Solid, straight, and complete with all early documentation. Accident free and never raced or rallied. Condition:. 128,000 original miles (odometer replaced at 60K miles) but engine ran out of oil due to oil supply line failure. Seats, luggage compartment carpeting, door panels, headliner, sun visors, instruments, leather-covered steering wheel, and dashboard fascia and top all in good to excellent condition. Floor carpeting intact but worn. Foot pedal rubbers lightly and evenly worn. Trunk center carpeting oil stained with some loss of material on driver's side corner near battery. All Fuchs 5-spoke mag wheels are near-perfect, no dings, spare never used. Tire jack in new condition. Minimal rust: RF fender has moderate rust-through in two spots, LF fender rusting through near rocker; some surface rust in corners, along bumpers, and rocker panels. Doors and jambs in impressive condition. No sunroof. Underbody seems to have only surface rust. No rust holes in floor pan, jacking points intact. Doors, hood, and engine lid are in perfect gap alignment. Dealer undercoated at 18K miles. Doors, windows, handbrake, control and release cables (except heater cables) function like new. Instruments, ancillary electrical equipment, and wiring appear in excellent condition. Fuse block and area behind instrument panel look nearly new. Underhood, spare well, battery mount, clamps, and covers are all in exceptionally nice condition. Frame integrity: No flex or weakness anywhere in body structure. Both doors open and shut freely when jacked on one side at rear torsion bar. Early 911 Coupes possess greater long-term structural integrity than Targa versions. According to David Morley at Drive.com.au in April 2014, "Porsche 911 Targa first drive:" The perceived problems with the original Targa centred around the fact that by chopping the roof off the 911, the bodyshell lost a lot of its structural integrity; a quality that was one of the 911 coupe’s long suits. Perhaps even more importantly than that, the shift to a removable targa roof suddenly robbed the 911 of one of its visual signatures; that sexy window line in profile Throw in the inevitable water leaks and extra wind noise, and the Targa model was soon perceived as 911 Lite. Features: Unfortunate engine failure is your opportunity to obtain a coveted and iconic 911S. Body is a perfect candidate for either cosmetic or total restoration. No prior attempt made to dismantle, weld, repair, restore, or turn engine crankshaft. .Extremely rare limited slip differential option. Factory all-around tinted glass in good condition. Delivered with 5.5-inch Fuchs forged magnesium wheels (stock were 4.5"), electric antenna, fog lamps, Blaupunkt "New Yorker" AM/FM/SW radio, rear seat belts, Webasto heater, tubular chrome rear bumper guards, and late factory-approved Bosch ignition system upgrade. History: I am second owner for 18 years. First owner ordered from Vasek Polak, Hermosa Beach, CA, and picked up new in Germany. Includes EU roadmaps and documentation from event. Vehicle is very well documented. Includes packet with driver's/owner's manual with book of worldwide service establishments, three maintenance record books (one lists original engine number 962044), and red plastic factory-provided tire pressure gaugeFirst US maintenance performed 12/12/67 at 489 miles at Vasek Polak, Manhattan Beach, CA. Vehicle received all scheduled servicings with oil changes performed every 6,000 miles. First 6,000 mile service at Mel Croan VW, Houston, TX, 6/4/68 at 6,009 miles. Most recent Houston, TX, service on 2/13/74 shows clutch replacement at 31,000 miles (actual 91,000 after odo replacement).Car was subsequently driven in VA until roughly 3/10/84 when battery was replaced (last receipt in possession).
