1976 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser4 Speed Transmission & Transfer CaseDisk Brakes, Daily Driver Hello, and welcome to my FJ40 auction. I am the third owner of this vehicle. I bought this FJ40 from the second owner who tried to get her going again but was not able to.When I bought it the engine was in pieces and the vehicle had no ambulance doors or seats. I took the engine (head and all) to the machine shop and had it tested and cleaned. The engine was in good shape so I had it rebuilt by an excellent mechanic who installed the engine rebuild kit, new clutch, and rebuilt the carburetor.I rebuild old cars for a living and my mechanic is amazing. This car runs like a top.I purchased all of the parts from Cool Cruisers of Texas and I bought the more expensive softer clutch ($500) that is really nice on the legs if you drive a lot. The heavy duty clutches burn your leg up after a day of wheeling or driving.I spared no expense on this vehicle because it has been my daily driver for a few years.I have had everything checked, greased, and or fixed on this vehicle including tie rod ends, axles, steering box, brakes, transmission and transfer case.The FJ40 has new tires with less than 10,00 miles on them. I only drive this a few miles everyday and take it on camping trips etc... There are still hairs on the tires.I found a set of original rims and hub caps as well.The seats are all original FJ40 seats and are in amazing condition. I paid well over $1,000 for all of the seats. The jump seats also have the kick stands which make them much more durable. I had the older ones because that is what is supposed to go into a 1976 FJ40 but my buddies broke a couple of them when we were hunting so I bought the ones with the kick stands and haven't had a problem since.I can easily get this rig up to 80mph and I pull my drift boat with it without any problems. I do not do both at the same time however. This rig is a tank and will make roads if there aren't any too.This rig is so loved by my family that we have named her "Black Betty" because she is such a little bad a**. I have gotten out of many a hairy situation in this rig and regularly gone where others don't dare.I hate to see this FJ40 go but I have too many and I am rebuilding two more for myself at the moment. This will be an awesome rig for someone and all of the work has already been done. Here is a list of the original OEM parts on this vehicle:The 4 speed transmission engine, and transfer case are all stock. The entire body, frame, axles, rims, etc. are stock with no aftermarket parts.The interior is all original including all of the switches, lights, and all four seatsThe radio, knobs, seats, front heater are OEM and original to the vehicle. The doors and hatch are all original and in excellent condition. The ambulance doors are entirely rust free, and are very niceI have a replacement door for the passenger side that is OEM and in great shape.You can see that most of this vehicle is stock and in great condition. The Good: This rig is ready to go and 100% functional.The engine has been professionally rebuilt and it has been driven regularly and treated like a baby.The transfer case, transmission, heater, brakes, exhaust, tires, steering, electrical, and everything else has been gone over, greased, or repaired/replaced.This FJ40 has the 2F engine, 4speed, disc brakes, and is almost complete and original. The only things that aren't original are the front blinker lights. They were moved to the front bumper.This was done because they always break off when you are wheeling. If you are interested in original lights I have a set for sale. I also have the rear hater for sale if you want to restore the vehicle.The rig had a new muffler and exhaust installed less than a year ago.I put a new poly gas tank in this FJ40 and it has cut down on the gas smell in the cab significantly. If you have ever owned one you know what I am talking about.The 4x4 has been gone through and the orignal Selectro FJ40 hubs are a really nice factory upgrade. The Bad: There is some rust along the rear side panels of this vehicle.There is also a little rust along the back and on the drivers side floor.The passenger side door has some major rust along the bottom but is solid. I have a replacement door shell that is rust free and perfect.I just never installed the replacement door because the rust doesn't effect the doors functionality.The rack is NOT included in this auction unless you hit the "Buy It Now" button. I will sell it for $500 but I want to keep it for my other FJ40s. _____ This FJ40 would be an ideal restore project, daily driver, or hunting rig. It does have a little rust but it is not bad for an FJ40.This Cruiser has not been modified and is all original. The vehicle is fully functional and is road, highway, and trail ready.I have taken a lot of time and money to track down all of the OEM parts on this rig. You need to view this video to appreciate the power and beauty of this FJ40.I can also store the vehicle for 30 days once payment is made if you need time to arrange shipment.
