Up for sale is my 1966 VW Bug Convertible. I purchased this car in the mid-ninetys. I spent the next 7-8 years restoring it to show-winning condition. I successfully campaigned the car for about 2 years, during which I put exactly 7918 miles on the car. I got married, had kids and ran out of time. The car has been in storage for about 10 years. my wife has been bugging me to sell it but I could not bring myself to do so. I am now in need of the space and am ready to move it on so someone else can enjoy it. The car is in essence a new car with 7918 miles on it that has been sitting for 10 years, as such the paint will need some attention. The paint would be good enough for a daily driver but not good enough to be competitive in the show scene. Paint on the hood is the worst with oxidation (please see pictures). The car is rust-free with the exception a small crush spot in the rails (please see Pictures). Spare tire well had a few pinholes, rust was neutralized and covered inside with a layer of fiberglass (for pinholes). This auction DOES NOT INCLUDE THE ENGINE! On Sep-29-14 at 18:26:25 PDT, seller added the following information: A very astute Ebayer pointed out that this VIN is for a '65 coupe...he is absolutely right the pan and thus the VIN is for a '65 coupe. I had a cherry low-mileage '65 coupe that had rolled. The pan was perfect so I used the original pan as a roller for the body while I restored the '65 pan and then swapped them.
