Vehicle Detail
Hello, thank you for checking out my truck. It is my goal to be as upfront and honest about the condition of this truck to the best of my knowledge. 1997 Ford F150 Lariat 4X4 with matching camper shell. Strong 5.4 Triton V8 motor. It will pull the Pope out of the Vatican.I'm the 3rd owner. 2nd owner was a pastor who received the truck as a donation to the church. He drove it a few months while for sale. Great daily driver. Cold A/C. Power everything and cruise control. Leather seats. Only option it does not have is the sun roof. This truck has been very well maintained. Original owner ran nothing but Mobile One synthetic motor oil. I have done the same. Trans filter and fluid every 2 years. The 4x4 is in working, all original condition. The only suspension mod is coil over shocks. Recent repairs as follows:New: water pump, hoses, belts, bigger radiator, thermostat, battery, tune up, coil packs, fuel tank removed and re installed with hose/lines replaced. Some miscellaneous emission crap over the years. There were some existing dents and dings and then a high school girl ran into the back of me at a stop light. She was texting. Pretty minor accident. You can see the original bumper has a ding in it. See before and after pics. I received some insurance money. This incident prompted me to have the whole truck Camo wrapped. That is the reason for the recent body work. See before and after pics.I had all the Ford badges and F150 badges removed. All the work was done by a local professional. Once I had seen, (in person) a truck that had a full camo wrap, I changed my mind. I did not like it. So it is how it is, I call it urban camo.I would give the body of this truck a score of 95 out of a 100 of course it needs paint or the camo wrap done. I don't feel I would get my money out of continuing with either. The truck has a brush guard, factory tow package, trailer brake modulator, running steps, and front receiver hitch for a winch or cargo box. This would make some one a great work truck, dear lease truck, or fishing truck. Kelly blue book says its worth $5200 on their lowest scale. The bad: Switch for the power driver seat needs replaced. You have to jiggle it to get it to move back and forth. Never bothered me because I am tall. The bad: Goes into 4 wheel high no problem, 4 wheel low when it feels like it. Mechanic buddy said its common on trucks that hardly ever get put in to 4 wheel drive. Said its a solenoid. The bad: Windshield washer does not work. Have to buy a whole new left/right turn, high/low beam light and wiper switch. $280 plus the labor to pull the steering column apart. I just use the windshield cleaning brush when I fuel up.The bad: Button fell off of steering wheel for the cruise control . It still works just fine. The bad: Time for a brake job. getting a little soft. Still I drive it daily and no grinding noises. The bad: The cable to the top latch on the 3rd door broke. Cable that needs replacing is $178 from Ford. I just removed it. Bottom latch works just fine and door opens and shuts fine. The bad: The mileage. I talked to the original owner who racked up a bunch of miles with his work. Mostly highway miles. He would also haul his camper to his deer lease and his boat to the lakes. The bad: The motor does use some oil. I have to add a little every 3rd fill up. NO LEAKS!The bad: 4X4 was hardly ever used. Original owner said he put it in 4 wheel drive a couple times just for shits and giggles. He never needed it. I have done the same. I put it into 4 wheel a couple times pulling my buddies boat out at the boat launch. Didn't even need to. The only reason I am selling this truck is because I was given a 2005 Chevy Silverado. Feel free to call me with any questions or if you want a close up picture of something on the truck. Thanks and happy bidding.
