Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1981 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with 104,999 miles. This is the last year of the 2nd generation Trans Am's and this was a rare configuration with the grey color, 305 cubic inch engine, WS6 handling package (limited slip differential, larger sway bars), 3.08 Posi disc brake rear end and Super T10 transmission, four-speed manual “Hurst" shifter, Turbo dish wheels and T -tops. There are plenty of black, white, red, and blue T/A s out there, but not many grey ones and even fewer with the manual transmission and the handling package. The car has undergone recent A/C service (blows cold), oil change, air filter replaced, new rear speakers, new carburetor, new front & rear brake calipers and brake pads, new driver's side front wheel bearing, new shocks, new tires, new sway bar bushings and new radiator overflow and windshield washer bottles. The good: dash is not cracked; the engine pulls strong and transmission shifts smoothly; the T-tops do not leak or rattle; the suspension is superb & tight; per Carfax the car has never been wrecked; and the car is an overall joy to drive. The bad: the seats need recovering; the passenger-side power door lock doesn't function, there is slight surface rust in several locations (and I do mean slight, but wanted to list it all); some of the dash lights do not work; the antenna will not retract completely; and the radio is not hooked up. A factory, period-correct, GM-Delco AM/FM Cassette stereo comes with the car, but will have to be installed. I also purchased touch up paint (both spray and brush) to take care of the surface imperfections. I purchased this car with the intention of restoring it (thus is why I purchased the period-correct stereo and paint), but have also purchased an older-model Ford Mustang I am working on too, so I just don't have the time. Feel free to ask any questions and/or make an appointment to test drive.
