Up for sale is my 1982 Chevy S-10 longbed pickup. The 389 cubic inch, 425-horsepower stroker engine has had 2 tanks of gas run through it following a complete rebuild, which was done at a local shop. The engine is under warranty for 1 year from completion which was about 2 weeks ago, and was rebuilt previously about 2 years ago, I put less than 1K miles on it before a rod bearing failed and led to this 2nd rebuild. The paint job is good/fair and is probably 8-10 years old I bought the truck in 2009 on ebay, and there are some unknowns, like the origin of the .373 positraction rear, and the TH 350 transmission. Both have been solid with no issues, but again, I am unsure of their origin. The Good: · Brand new Eagle 400 forged crank · Eagle forged rods · 1977 seasoned block line-bored and balanced with Sealed Power skirted pistons. · Patriot aluminum heads with 185 cc intake ports-from previous build · 11.1:1 compression ratio · ARP head bolts · Holley 670 Street Avenger carb-brand new! · Edelbrock Victor Jr. Single-plane intake-brand new · Comp Cams .494 lift camshaft-from previous build · Brand new high-torque mini starter · New custom-built aluminum 1-piece driveshaft · Brand new Hughes 2700 stall converter · Brand new MSD 6AL2 ignition with rev limiter · Milodon 8-qt oil pan with Melling high-volume oil pump · Brand new aluminum 4-core radiator with dual electric fans · New wheels and tires-15x8 front, 15x10 rear · B & M ratchet shifter · Hedman ceramic-coated shorty headers · 3” custom stainless steel exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. Manual exhaust dumps. · 10-gallon stainless steel fuel cell · New Mallory electric fuel pump · New MSD 8.5 mm plug wires, New Battery If you feel so inclined, you could put a blower or nitrous on it and the internals would certainly stand up to the pressure. The Not-So-Good · This is a 32 year-old truck with no power steering and no AC, so please don’t expect to hop in and drive 2-300 miles or more home in comfort. You could do it, but it drives and rides like a 32 year-old truck with a high-performance motor in it. · Driver's side window will jump off the track and dive to the bottom of the door if not coaxed gently while cranking down. · Interior is fair. The doors were painted, and the paint is peeling. The dash has a crack on the passenger’s side. The driver’s side door seal is pretty well shot, but does not leak as long as the door is completely closed Additional parts Include: An Edelbrock 750 Performer carb which honestly was a pill, so we took it off and replaced it with the Holley. You are welcome to the Edelbrock. Set of Hedman long-tube headers for SBC I also have a tonneau cover and a bed liner (I will have bed liner re-installed if you wish. It was taken out when fuel cell was installed. I have attempted to be as fair as possible in describing the truck. It is sold as is, with no warranty except by the shop for the engine. This, of course will be a benefit only to a local buyer. The truck sounds and runs great, and draws many appreciative looks and comments.
