Hello and thanks for stopping to check out our 1969 Mercury Montego MX Convertible! The car has the following options: 75,132 ACTUAL MILES 302 CID V-8 Engine Automatic Transmission Power Steering and Brakes AM Radio This Montego is a one-owner car purchased in 1969 by a lady and her husband. The car was hers and her husband maintained the car till he passed away 20 years ago. Then, her son-in-law maintained the car for her. She barely ever drove it since then. The title is clean and the miles are actual. If you’re looking for just a really, REALLY nice, full-sized convertible that’s been well-maintained, probably never abused, and always been cared for, this car could be just the right one for you. The car is turn-key ready to drive home to any of the 48 states. The tires are fair, so it would be the owner’s discretion whether to chance a long trip or to replace the tires. They are not bad, just older. Mechanically, it has the 302 V-8, 2BBL and still has a lot of pep and is good on gas for what it is. The transmission shifts so smoothly that you can barely hear it shift. The front end is tight and it brakes well. The only thing mechanically that it will need is a heater core. There is a brand-new one in the trunk. It just has to be installed. It’s always been a summer car, so it was never really needed. The original one went bad, but no one was in a hurry to replace it. The car is 46 years old, after all. The interior is all original and is really nice. There is a small split in the front seat. The convertible top, believe it or not, is the original. It goes up and down without a problem, but it too, shows signs of age, as seen in the Photobucket pictures. I would also like to mention that the rear windows need to have the tracks realigned so they seal properly against the front windows. There is a small gap, which you’ll see in the pictures, as well. The trunk and underneath of the car are very solid. This car is one of around 3,100 made. Most of them are probably gone by now, so not only is this a rare car, but it’s also one that is likely in better shape than most that are left.
