Vehicle Detail
2001 Ford Escape XLT Sport Utility 4-Door 3.0L - Strong Engine - Parts or Repair NO RESERVE! I've been thinking of parting this out myself, especially since the engine and body are in such good shape. Check eBay prices on these Ford Escape engines, and you'll see that alone fetches more than the buy-it-now price here. Not that I've ever done something like that before, so I guess I'm feeling a little hesitant to tackle that project myself. So, buy this Escape, get the engine, and it's like the whole rest of the Escape is free!3.0L 6Cyl EngineFront Wheel DriveGray Cloth SeatsToreador Red Pearl Metallic ClearcoatAutomatic TransmissionAir Conditioning155,237 miles I'm disappointed by the Autocheck score. I think it is pushed down because it lists four owners. But I have happily owned this Escape for 50,000 miles and would still be driving it today but for the trans problem. The good, the bad and the ugly. (If you're a baby boomer and older, makes you want to whistle, doesn't it?) The GoodStrong running engine. Good interior. New Jersey inspection good through January 2016. New ECU, though I'm not sure it was needed.New alternatorComplete brake job, calipers, rotors and all. The body is in very good condition. Smoke free vehicle.AC blows cold. Cruise control works fine. The Bad. Bad trans (moves in first and reverse after some coaxing). Radio and cigarette lighter removed. Two tires will need to be replaced soon.Small tear in center console cover. Stone nick in windshield. Small bump in front lip of hood (really have to look hard in the picture to see it.) The oval pieces of cloth trim on the inside door panels have all come unglued.Fender bender around May 2011 (not our fault!) which explains the new left fender, new bumper cover, new grill, new fog lights and new headlights. (I had them replace both fog lights and headlights so they would match). Autocheck even describes it as "MINOR."Power steering fluid has a minor leak. The UglyPeeling clear coat on the rear hatch and right quarter panel. It could use a vacuuming. I have another Escape, and I'm going to keep the cross bars on the roof rack to mount a removable solar panel onto that vehicle. I have done my best to describe the vehicle. It is being sold as-is. Ask any questions before bidding on items. $500 deposit via Paypal required. Review my excellent feedback in 17 years on eBay, and please bid with confidence. This vehicle is sold as-is. Vehicle must be towed. Must be picked up by you or your shipper. Thank you, and good luck bidding!
