Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 2001 BMW M5. Very Clean with a low 7,200 miles per year. It is right at 94,000 miles. This car has been owned by very picky owners. I am the 4th and have owned it for a little over a year and a half. All of us have kept every receipt & record for it and have garaged and treated it like one of the greatest sedans ever created... as it is. I bought it as I have always wanted to own an e39 M5 and I am selling it to fund the next car on my list having enjoyed this beast. Exterior: The Imola Red paint in my opinion is one of the best BMW has ever had on its cars. This is the second BMW I have had with it and it is still deep and red after all these years. There are some expected rock chips on the front and some very minor paint scratches at a couple locations around the car. Nothing that is noticeable unless you detail it and you are looking for them. No dents at all. Trim is in great condition and had been replaced by the previous owner. Headlights have just been polished and the foglights could use a glass polish to get perfect. Glass and rubber is all good and the windshield was replaced with a BMW OEM by the last owner in 2012. Lenses all around have no cracks in them. Michelin Pilot Super Sports I bought new under 8000 miles ago and never abused Wheels are all straight and in good condition with 94,000 miles. Some curb rash, so to match the rest of the car they will need to be refurbed... Prince Wheels matches the OEM finish perfectly. If I was to keep the car, this was the next thing to do on the list. Kidney grilles are blacked out, not chrome. I also purchased a high quality front license plate bracket that goes in the front towing mount in the bumper. Bumper hole cover is included if you don't have to run front plates. Interior: The Complete Leather Caramel interior with wood trim is in phenomenal condition. This has been my favorite color combination since the e39 M5 was introduced. The Caramel leather is near flawless except for very minor wear on the drivers bolster. The complete leather package puts leather everywhere and every inch has been taken care of. Non-smoker owners. I purchased new OEM M5 floor mats to match the rest of the interior. I also replaced the Seat switch cover trim with black pieces. The original caramel colored ones looked cheap as they were painted from the factory over grey plastic. They chip and scrape easily and don't match the color of the rest of the interior... black looks much higher quality and is a popular mod. All the wood is in perfect condition and still is glossy. Shift leather boot and parking brake leather boot are all like new. Alcantara headliner is flawless. This car also comes with the highly desirable split rear fold down seats for trunk pass through. I upgraded the GPS to MkIV and added the DICE system for Blue Tooth Connectivity. Works perfectly. I replaced the shifter with an BMW OEM e60 shifter for shorter throws and replaced the bushings and bearing as well. Very little slop and a lot shorter throws than stock. Should have come this way from the factory. It also has new OEM cup holders installed. Steering wheel is like new with very very minimal wear and bright M stitching. Dashboard LCD is working perfectly as do all the power switches and buttons. I had the lava lamped mirror re-built by Dr. Mirror to perfect OEM condition. Interior needs nothing. I also have the original Manuals and 2 Original Key FOBs. Mechanical: Car runs strong and perfect. Non of the horses are missing. Solid like a bank vault these e39s are - no rattles. A lot of the big ticket items have been done by the previous picky owner to be enjoyed. The exhaust has the muffler delete and it is about a perfect sound as you can get in an automobile. Aggressive when you want it and unobtrusive when you don't. I have been warned by the previous owner not to take it through automatic car washers as water jets can shoot water up the pipe as there is no muffler to stop it and sometimes gets to the o2 sensors causing temporary rough idle and cel light although it fixes itself after the water has evaporated. Minor price to pay for the glorious sounds. I have changed the oil with OEM kits from Turner Motorsports with Castrol 10W-60 TWS. Last change was approximately 1000 miles ago. I have also replaced the transmission oil with Royal Purple Synchromax which made a world of difference in the smoothness. Rides smooth with no issues. No leaks at all from the engine including the 1 or 2 usual trouble spots on the valve covers. Just had the battery replaced with a German made Autocraft Gold 95R which is a direct replacement for the OEM. New BMW OEM Wipers and also had the brakes flushed recently. Below is a list of some of the other recently documented items that the previous owner had done (entire history in the receipts): OEM Clutch Replaced at 81,930 milesOEM Flywheel Replaced at 81,930 milesGuibo Joint Replaced at 81,930 milesRear Main Seal Replaced at 81,930 milesR&R Thermostat Replaced at 81,930 milesCrank Seal Replaced at 81,930 milesMass Air Meter Replaced at 86,513 milesRear Ball Joint Replaced at 86,513 milesRear Brake Rotors Replaced at 86,513 milesRear Pads and Sensors Replaced at 86,513 milesCabin Air Filters Replaced at 86,513 milesExhaust Cam Sensor Replaced at 73,792 miles Car has been loved its entire existence and it shows. You will not be disappointed by the condition of this car. On Oct-02-14 at 10:48:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Wanted to add that the vehicle engine is completely stock with factory air filters and factory tune. Will be including engine photos this afternoon. On Oct-02-14 at 17:18:22 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention it also has an integrated front/rear radar detector built in. Don't know the brand, never used it. Engine pics added.
