Vehicle Detail

1974 Cadillac Fleetwood Two-Tone Silver Armbruster-Stageway Dark Blue Medici Crushed Velour Interior This is a beautiful and unique 1974 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham six-door limousine conversion by Stageway Coaches. If you like the long low look of the '70's Cadillacs, you won't be disappointed. The interior is covered in sumptuous Dark Blue Medici Crushed Velour and easily seats 8 (9 if you're cozy). Despite its respectable age, the dash and door panels are in great condition. You'll be quite proud to drive around in this marvelous machine! This Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham is a first year 6-door limousine conversion performed by Stageway Coaches, Inc. (Body by Armbruster). The body was stretched in October of 1974; a middle seat and doors were added, along with a custom rear air conditioner. I purchased this car in Southern California with only 35,000 miles from Doug Scott of funeralcars.com in 2005. It served as a funeral limousine / professional car (a.k.a. “family car”) prior to my purchase. Garaged since the summer of 2006, this impressive cruiser is ready for a new home. This was my daily driver for a number of years (both in sunny Southern California and in suburban Northern Virginia), but the practical necessities of two young children have limited my hobby time. At a bit under 22-1/2 feet, you'll need a big garage to take this beast home! ***MANY MORE PICS BELOW*** The car is in great driving condition and it shows. The wood grain steering wheel is flawless (a typical problem area) as is the top of the dash. Dash chrome is intact and bright. The older two-tone silver repaint is shiny and smooth, with a some flaws here and there (see pictures and details below). Chrome trim is excellent; all trim pieces are present (minus the power antenna ring). Exterior mirrors are clear and strong; chrome trim still looks great after 40 years. Tri-tone horn blares out that Cadillac sound. Fiber Optic Brake and Turn Signal Indicators still glow on the rear headliner and front fenders. Grey / white bumper inserts are present and flexible; minor shrinking from age has occurred. All 6 door handles are clear and bright. Bumper inserts are clean and stable, but are starting to show their age as well with paint peeling. The engine and transmission are strong and mechanically sound. There's nothing like the sound of a large American V-8 under wide-open throttle! Many parts have been replaced or upgraded, including: Custom 3" dual exhaust with crossover H-pipe, Flowmaster 50s, and Magnaflow stainless exhaust tips Original Quadrajet carburetor rebuilt, upgraded with larger jets and rods High-flow FlowKooler water pump with thermostat Radiator & hoses Cadillac temperature controlled factory cooling fan installed (reduces noise and engine load during cruise) Chrome power steering pump with synthetic fluid Rubber vacuum lines replaced with silicone Custom-timed distributor with performance HEI module, includes clear cap Hi-temp spark plug wires Valve cover gaskets replaced Battery Minder added Interstate battery installed Replaced hood springs Replaced motor mounts Replaced starter Added hi-capacity alternator  I chose to restore / upgrade many wear items. They include: Custom AC hoses installed (underhood and routed to rear AC) Replaced AC compressor, accumulator, fittings, dryer; still includes R-12 (not converted) Front Automatic Climate Control (factory) and Rear Air Conditioning (installed by Armbruster during conversion) Added original Space Saver spare (never used) Custom skull shifter and door lock pulls were gently installed; they can be reverted to plain stock without issue (although they feel quite good in the hand) Rear shocks replaced (previous air shocks were removed, though compressor is still installed) Kumho White Wall Heavy-Duty Tires Brake pads and shoes replaced Installed "Proud" Eldorado hood ornament Metallic tint professionally installed to fight the strong California sun Custom Washable California Car Cover (minor tear near hood ornament pocket) Resealed windshield glass Underneath of the car is solid; rear wheel skirts are in great shape No major issues, but a number of minor ones are present. Radio still seeks out stations effectively, although the speakers need some attention. (Speaker replacements included.) The clock is inoperative, as is the driver's power seat. Heater and AC work, although AC likely needs a recharge; temperature control likely needs work. Minor water leak above middle driver's window and rear glass; the custom car cover reduces that issue. Headliner has some local discoloration there. Trunk carpet and underlayment have water damage due to rear glass leak. Base of doors have a few rust blemishes inside and out (see pictures). Door edges have some chipping. Minor rust bubble at base of Driver's side padded roof. Driver's side interior trim pieces near door are cracked. Padded roof has minor scrapes. Driver's side tail has a bit of garage rash. Rear passenger compartment had a custom heater installed; some leaking occurred, and I removed it. Typical minor oil leaks at the front main seal, transmission pan. The carpet in that area suffered some damage from coolant and was discolored. Many extra parts available for separate purchase following sale.
