Vehicle Detail
For Sale: 57 Buick Special, Model 48, 2 door post. I have owned this car for 16 years. I bought it from the 2nd owner and he bought it from the original owner’s wife. The car has 53,800 original miles on it. When I bought the car it had its original single exhaust. All gauges on the car work. The original AM radio still works. The only two things that don’t work are the wipers and the clock on the dash. The car has newer tires & chrome smoothie wheels. The car was repainted in 1988 with factory colors, Antique Ivory over Dover White. Being an older paint job there is some crazing but paint still looks great. There is some minor surface rust in the trunk. All glass is good no chips or cracks. The floor pans are solid. The engine is the 364 C.I. Nail head 8 cylinder original to car. Car has manual steering and brakes. I have driven this car all over Michigan. The car was rust proofed years ago inside the fenders, doors, and chassis. There is a slight transmission Leak which is common on old Dynaflow automatic transmissions. The trans. shifts smoothly. There are not many 2 Dr. Post Buick’s around. There some extra parts and car cover included. Things I have done to the car: I replaced the single exhaust system with duals & Smithy’s Mufflers & dumped the pipes below the bumpers instead of the original style coming out the bumper end which had a tendency to rust. I filled the outlet holes before I had the rear bumper re-chromed. The front bumper, grill head light rings and fuel door, were also re-chromed. I also added non functioning lake pipes and added blue dots to the brake lights. I rebuilt the carburetor & generator. The starter, solenoid, rear springs were replaced. Regular shocks were replaced with gas shocks. The gas tank was cleaned and coated. The radiator was re-cored. I installed N.O.S. fabric on the seats. Floor pans were wire wheeled and painted before I added carpet. The headliner & the rest of the interior are original. This car is in very good condition. Please feel free to e-mail me or call (517-918-2149) with any questions about the car after viewing all of the photos. This car is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
