This auction is for a 1976 Mercury Grand Monarch in amazing original condition NO RESERVE Fully loaded Ghia Edition This is a true one owner / California rust free / always garaged car with only 49, 263 original miles. The original owners are an elderly couple (friends of the family) that are liquidating some of their estate. Up until last month they had held the original title since they purchased it new in 1976. I purchased the car and transferred the title to my name because they asked me to take it off their hands. It has always been garaged. It was used primarily for easy local errands. It has never been involved in an accident. It has never been smoked in or around. It has always been well cared for. The car is in overall excellent condition for its age. The head liner has a small mark but does not sag. Almost everything works (see below) including the dashboard clock, radio, wipers, power locks, power seats etc. The paint is in need of a good buffing and waxing. I tested a corner and it immediately came out beautifully. There are no cracks in the dash. The Not Quite As Good Some age related wear to drivers seat (pictured) but still very much intact. The passenger door window does not go up and down. Might be a motor issue or a track issue. There are multiple little door dings on the rear doors of each side from parking too close to the spouse's other car in the garage. The majority of which involve only the paint and have very little effect on the actual metal (pictured). One of the Grand Monarch symbols (driver's side) is broken (pictured). It still holds to the door and could easily be fixed. The air conditioner blows air but it's not cold. There is a belt missing for the ac. The stitching on the rear of the vinyl roof is starting to come undone (pictured). There are a few tiny dings in the chrome of the wheel well liners (pictured). The tires will need to be replaced due to age and wear. It idles a little bit rough.There is some slight surface rust on the chrome bumpers (pictured) that will probably come out with the appropriate detailing methods. The car is in need of a very good overall detailing from top to bottom, inside and out. Overall this is a very special car. I recommend inspecting it before bidding. However, if the buyer is unable to inspect it before bidding I offer the following guarantee: If, upon inspection after the purchase, the buyer is unsatisfied for any reason or simply changes his or her mind I will refund payment and deposit and re-list the vehicle. We are not in any hurry to sell this. It is more important that this car go to the right home than be pushed through to an unhappy buyer.
