Vehicle Detail
Listed at NO RESERVE. The first bidder will get the car. This is my personal driver and runs amazing. It is something you can get in,fire it up and go cruising right away. Here is my 1971 Pontiac Grandville 2 door hardtop. Let me start by saying this is a really RARE car. RARE. As of the last year or so-I have seen 2 for sale in the entire country. My eBay screen name actually is partially named after this car. This car was bought new here in Spokane and was once a light green with green interior and was repainted gold in 1978. They did a good job as everything was done, all the jambs, under the trunk lid...everything. I have the receipt for that. I will get around to taking some pictures of the interior for you before the end of the day. It's pretty close to flawless. My car has the rare Pontiac "rally" wheel option you could order when bought new from the dealer. It does not have power windows but it does have everything else. I have recently had brand new whitewalls put on,new fuel pump, new air cleaner, all fluids changed, new dual exhaust with "dumped" glasspacks and zoomies out the back, spark plugs, spark plug wires, alternator, battery, cap and rotor and re-timed. The radiator was also fixed and replaced not long ago. Rust issues: There is a small amount of "bubbling" under the left side of the top about maybe an inch or so in diameter. The top is original with zero cracks and wear. There are also some small specs around the rear of the rear wheel wells but those again are super small. The car was garaged for many years. Other than that-nothing. This car has never been in a wreck. There is no bondo anywhere on the car. ANYWHERE. All the body panels are original. Drive ability: I drove it today with my Dad. If you keep your foot out of it-you'll get around 15-16 mpg's from it. If not, you're looking closer to 10. This car is FAST....as in really FAST. I don't drive crazy but it does like to get blown out every once in awhile. The speedo goes to 120 and I've had it there with throttle to spare. With the upgrades and timing re-done along with a more free flowing exhaust it's pushing close to 400 horsepower with 550 foot pounds of torque. It is LOUD. When you hit the gas while driving or just start it up in the parking lot or driveway...you are going to hear it. The beast awakens. I have a ton of paperwork on the car going back to the 70's up until present day. Owner's manual...it's all in the glovebox. All the glass is in excellent shape with no pits or scratches. Everything works the way it should. The air conditioning will need a belt and a recharge...it's all there I just choose not to use it. Having all the windows down is my type of AC. The mileage on the car is true and it has never flipped 100,000. It's going to last for many years to come. As with any 43 year old car-it will need some cosmetic attention here and there but nothing major unless you really want to take it all apart and re-do the whole car. It gets major attention at shows and on the street as it sits. Most "car guys" around my way don't even know what it is....or they do...they just haven't seen one. This car is also registered on the Worldwide Pontiac Grandville Registry. I believe it is number 233. The reserve on this will be up there a bit. I have some good money tied up into it and I know what it is worth in it's present state. If you've been wanting one of these....now is your chance. Once it's gone....it's gone. Pontiac didn't have a "C" body in the line-up so the Grandville was basically a "B" body with a integrated C pillar roof line. With only a little over 1,700 convertibles built in '71....I have seen more of those for sale than the 2 door coupes. Not many of these left out there. If you don't want the classic "World's Fair EXPO '74" bumper sticker on it...I will take it off. However,it just adds to the almost time warp look the car has. Good luck and happy bidding. This car is pretty nice and gets compliments anywhere you go,you won't be disappointed and chances are...you aren't going to find another one. This is way more rare than a comparable Impala or Caprice...and not as big as a Buick Electra,Olds or Cadillac Coupe Deville. Factory 455 power and runs excellent. If this sells....I'm going to miss it terribly. But life goes on. I would not even hesitate to hop in and drive this car across the country. I forgot to mention that the trunk seals and the window seals have all been replaced as well. The trunk still sports the original "double lined" Goodyear spare tire,I have a new spare that goes with it so you can use the original spare for show if you like and it comes with a full car cover if stored outside. It has garnered lots of attention on The Brougham Society page on Facebook if you've seen it. I'm also part of the Grandville club and do have hook-ups for the little parts it needs. Not much-but those little hard to find parts aren't going to hard to find with my help. :) I'll get a picture of the trunk tomorrow for you. I think that pretty much covers it. On Aug-27-14 at 10:12:31 PDT, seller added the following information: If you are needing help with a shipper you can contact Rinkens International @ 1-310-639-7725. It is running great. Rinkens is based out of Torrance,California and I have dealt with them a few times. Always prompt and extremely reliable. They helped ship a few of my old cars,a '76 New Yorker Brougham to Germany and a '74 Cadillac Coupe Deville to Brazil. Again, you will need nothing to do with the drive ability of the car. Get in,turn the key, fire it up and take off. I drove it last night downtown and it's running great! Thank you kindly, Jason
