Vehicle Detail

1980 Turbo Trans Am 14.00 Third owner of a very well-cared-for collectable car. The 1980 TTA was the last generation of the “Bandit Era” Trans Ams, with an offset scoop. This car is one of about 10,000 made. ALL NUMBERS MATCH in this 95% original car. 19k miles on a full re-build, re-paint that was done in 1997 with the highest quality Sikkens triple-coat paint. Decals and striping all replaced as original. Build sheet and original spare tire, T-Tops with upholstered covers, etc. all included. In the early 1980’s, there were two types of men: Those that had a Black Trans Am, and those that wanted one. This one was acquired in 1993 and has been treated kindly ever since. Hate to sell it but with life priorities and little spare time, I can’t drive it around as I’d like to. This car has placed at car shows in the past. Body is straight, all metal, original parts. Factory ordered with the LED Turbo lights deleted and WS6 suspension package, runs about as it did off the showroom floor. The 301 (4.9 L) Turbo was rebuilt to factory standards. You can see a thermal wrap around the downpipe from the turbo in pictures, this lowers engine heat and improves performance. Areas to address in this car: Interior needs touch-ups to panels, one small crack in the dashboard, and some bubbling in the paint around the back wheels in the quarter panels, and one spot on the driver door (normal surface rust, easily addressed). Blows a little smoke on start up (As it did since it was new, Turbo), A/C system in the car but not connected (needs to be re-charged). New distributor, radiator, belts, hoses and fluids. Needs a grill insert on passenger side. Radio does not work, but any one can be installed (standard radio slot). Anything that was replaced for maintenance was always with 100% OEM parts. Always a head-turner, get stopped all the time with admirers. These cars are getting harder and harder to find with the original paint schemes and original engines, this car has both. This car has been a labor of love – but it’s time to find a new home where it can be your baby as it was mine!! This car is sold as-is. Only available for sale in the US. Payment via PayPal or CASH only. No scams, please! You must make the $500 deposit within 24 hours and pick it up from Florida within a week thereafter. I reserve the right to sell it locally if a buyer comes along before the end of this sale. Relisting, as the last buyer felt like a scam. Car runs fine, is reliable enough to get back to your home. This is my personal, long-time owned car (since 1993) and I hate to sell it -- but I simply don't have the space to keep it!
