Vehicle Detail
1966 Ford Falcon 4-door sedan, up for grabs. Original 289 (4.7L) V8 Windsor engine 200 HP (149 kW) at 4,400 rpm and 282 lb·ft torque (382 N·m) at 2,400 rpm3-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmissionPower steering 51,000 miles Cherry-Bomb glasspack muffler New 750-amp Auto Zone battery with 3-year warrantyLow miles on the tires Original bumper-jack in the trunk Original user manual and repair book included This car is a daily driver, mostly short trips to work and back. Starts every time (tap the peddle for the automatic choke). Needs to warm up a bit, then ready to roll. Engine is nice and perky, it'll outrun most noodlers on the highway. Shifts great, transmission is solid. "Emberglo" brown paint is interestingly tired. I'm the third owner, and I don't believe any of the previous two ever heard of wax. Actually I think it looks great the way it is... It all depends on your outlook. If you're into rat-rods this might be ideal. I remember the first time I drove it home. There was a young mother holding her two kids back from the street, and as I drove by I heard one of the little ones exclaim, "Eewwwwwww".... But it really is in great shape. Mileage shows at 51K and the guy that sold it to me swears that it hasn't rolled over. He knew the original owner and says there's no way it was driven 151K. But then again everybody says that; you decide. Personally I believe it. They probably just left it out in the elements and ruined the paint and the dashboard. Oh, and the steering wheel has some cracks, too. I do have the steering-wheel centerpiece (the horn honker) but it needs a new retainer ring (on the way, will be fixed soon). Also the headliner is dried out and tears easily. I removed the front portion cuz it was hanging loose. See photo. The back bench-seat has some stains, and the body has a few very minor dings. Original carpet is clean, front floormat is a little worn. No floorpan rust, no rust in the trunk or underneath. All the lights work (except the instrument-gauge), all the turn signals, brake lights, etc. It recently passed inspection so all is well. Original AM radio works. Three sets of keys included, for the car AND the locking gas cap. I love this car and would love to see it through to a full restoration, but circumstances currently prevent it. Buyer will get no surprises, I drive it all the time. I've tried to describe the car to the best of my abilities; send requests for more info or video. scottlennan@gmail.com 512-944-7699
