Nice 2001 Silverado 2500HD with LB7 Duramax . She is rare that GM did not make too many with the six speed manual transmission. Kelly Blue Book has the value at over 7,000 dollars in good condition , based on their criteria she meets the very good criteria. I wanted a diesel truck three years ago , I have always bought used cars and trucks from the South so I started looking in TX, GA Al, MS etc and found this one in LA for sale from the original owner . I flew down to Shreveport and drove her back without a regret since . The original owner was a mechanic for Isuzu diesel motors on oil rigs , he traveled from Houston to Pensacola and when Isuzu and GM did the joint venture (DMAX) he wanted one of the first trucks . So he ordered a plain basic truck and used it as a service truck . He mentioned he changed the oil every 7,500 miles and only used Rotella T and LuberFiner filters . In the three years since I have had her I change her oil with Rotella T and use LuberFiner filters except I do it every 5,00 miles and it is still clean and clear so it probably could go to 7,500 but oil and filters are cheap. When I got her back I took it to a diesel shop and had them flush and fill the coolant , change the transmission fluid with GM synthetic fluid and change the differential fluid. I am funny about my oil services , I will wait for the weekend or a time when I know I won't need the truck for a few days and let the oil drain for a few days . I also have an air nozzle that I force air through the filler and didpstick tube , you would be amazed how much more oil comes out . I do this the whole weekend whenever I walk by shoot air for two or three minutes , sometimes I will pour a little fresh oil in and blow it through also. I have done this to all my equipment for years and feel I really get most of the old oil this way . I also blow out the air filter, check tire pressure, blow out the radiator, PB Blaster all the door hinges , blow out the interior and grease the fittings . I change the fuel filter every other service which is 10,000 miles.Within the last six months I replaced the two front tires, replaced both batteries , replaced the starter .I noticed the carrier bearing rubber bushings looked worn while greasing so we replaced the carrier bearing and all the UJoints.The front tires are Michelins and have less than 2,000 miles on them . The AC blows ice cold, she has a JVC CD MP3 sound-system which rocks , even has a remote for the stereo. Cruise control, manual windows and locks. block heater , no rust and gets 23 MPG doing 65-70 with the AC on . I pulled a car trailer to Georgia a couple months ago and she got 16 MPG loaded and unloaded , barely could tell the trailer was back there .I got a good deal on a beater truck to use now and could use the money so unfortunately I am selling her. She does have a couple things wrong with her , they are all pretty much cosmetic and don't effect her performance .Windshield has a crack in it but is not in the line of the drivers vision.Drivers seat is worn , see picsHeadliner is sagging , see picsMisc dents , scratches and road bruises , see picsPassenger side rear turn signal has a small hole, see picPassenger side inner fender is missing , I was going to replace the starter myself ,I put it in the back and it blew out since I had a small diesel shop to do the work.This is a good solid plain Jane of a truck with a lot of life left in her. She does not leak or burn any oil and has plenty of life left in her . We have a clean Ohio title in hand and would be happy to deliver anywhere in the lower 48 states .
