Vehicle Detail

Excellent Cherry Red Ghia that came from California in 2004. All lights work including reverse lights and green indicator light for turn signals in speedo(all original to car). Original 1 year only brushed aluminum horn ring. Top, padding, and headliner in excellent condition as is boot cover-no stains or stress areas. Top frame was cleaned and new cables installed. Ghia was painted in its org color in 2005 over its original paint as evident of inner hood and trunk paint and pictures from PO. All metal panels are original and solid. Door, trunk, hood seams are excellent, rockers are not skimmed over--solid metal as are rear quarters and inner wheel wells. Door gaps are right on and shut with the sound you want--by themselves-no need to push. Engine has been professionally been rebuilt and cruises all day--5,000 miles in last 8 years. Dry engine with aluminum valve covers and chrome flared exhaust tips--great tone.Carpet, seats, door panels, dash were all redone--no issues. Tires are Nexxen period correct and excellent shape. Has an original Blaupunkt VW radio with FM and org VW knobs--very rare. Drives straight, quiet and solid. Rear pans have been repaired previously rest of pan is excellent. All gears shift smooth and are synchronized properly. Wipers work as they should. Generator charges the battery and never had starting problems. Will need a muffler in near future--starting to show its age but still quiet. Original bumpers are driver quality with some pitting on center bumper blades. Get in and drive! Only selling to add a Porsche to my garage after selling a 911 and 928- 3 years ago to purchase a Ghia Vert. Original mileage is 102,220 as stated on title and from previous owner. Original 1968 Owners manual goes with car. Has original glove box liner. I also have left over paint from restoration for any touch ups--not sure of its condition but both cans are fluid. Will try to get more pics up tomorrow--darn phone. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction early if a buyer steps forward with a proper offer. On Aug-26-14 at 16:49:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Will try to get additional pictures up by Thursday for more details of interior, dash, seats, engine, trunk etc for all those that have asked. Having problems uploading them from my windows phone and not home tonight till late. Not as techy as I wish I was. On Aug-27-14 at 09:57:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Will try to answer all questions as they continue to come in the best I can. Engine was installed as a NEW SHORT BLOCK not rebuilt--my mistake--still has shiny block, heads etc. Received valve adjustment, plugs, points, cap, rotor, oil change ,carb rebuild and lube this month. In 2005 the Ghia received refinishing of the exterior and interior. Front trunk and engine bay are still original and in great shape.Battery box is solid-all org insulation is present and in tack in engine bay, still has org door seals and no rust under them at all. Reserve is close to present high bid. I would like to see this Ghia go where it will be cared for for the next 20 years. More pics will be up today. My phone is 330-232-0059 if you are a serious buyer and need to chat. Please no tire kickers--this is a serious purchase on a fine Ghia. Thanks, DavidOn Aug-28-14 at 13:01:33 PDT, seller added the following information: So many questions so little time :). Not my first VW ( have owned several) -worked for VW, British Leyland, and Toyota as a mechanic from 1974-1978--teaching Science since. Owned a 1966-21 window--oh to have kept it $$$$. Horns work, windows roll up and down freely, both door locks work, seat belts work, heat works, fresh air vents work, front and rear splash guards are original and solid. Speedometer was checked by GPS--its fast by about 4mph--its 46 years old. The chrome on all gauges is really nice and shiny. The clock does not work--haven't gotten that far yet. New EMPI chrome flared tips put on this month. Hope this helps answer all inquiries. Car drives straight down the road-front suspension is tight. No humming or vibrations. On Aug-31-14 at 19:04:17 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had no success loading additional pics since last update. I have provided my phone number in an update. If you desire a video of engine going through a range of rpms, pics of clean/dry short block, pans, rockers, etc send me a text message or call and I can send them through my smart phone. If you live overseas please have a plan for shipping--sent a 69 Ghia coupe to England that was not a smooth process and what was suppose to be 7 days was over 3 weeks. The car is detailed and covered awaiting the next happy cruiser. I will be calling ebay in the am (EST) to see what/why there has been a problem.
