Vehicle Detail
This bike ran when I parked it. It does not run now but engine kicks over and has normal compression for 11K. I drained the almost full gas tank this week and there is only normal rust, no rust particles came out, and no old gasoline sludge. The gas was not good enough to run, but not varnishy or thick. TT pipes and wheels are rusty. Fork tubes and brake discs are rusty. All exposed chrome has surface rust. Frame has some rust on front tubes directly in front of the engine. This is surface rust only as the original black paint flaked off when I washed it for this sale. Key ignition is now a toggle switch and main fuse is now a circuit breaker. I put a battery booster on the battery cables but could not get lights to light. Throttle works and clutch lever pulls in. I did not try the brakes as I didn't want the pucks to stick out where I can't move it. 5 speed transmission was normal when I parked it. I repainted the tank and there is a small run on the top. Pull back bars and Triumph sissy bar from back in the day. Rear light lens is cracked and I repaired it with glue or fiberglass. Seat look exceptionally well for its' age as there are no tears on the top and only slight rust on the seat pan. This bike needs to be gone over completely but everything is there, except for the shift lever. I ran this as a daily driver until I parked it because I bought another bike. I never had the engine apart except for routine maintenance. Engine number matches frame. Auction winner needs to send $500 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of end of auction or a No Payment claim will be filed. The balance needs to be settled before I sign (and notarize) the title. Balance must be paid within 7 calender days and I will mail the title if the bike is not shipped/picked up yet. Cashiers check (for the correct amount), cash, or PayPal only! I prefer that this bike is picked up by the winner so we can transfer the title but I will assist in loading the bike if it is shipped. Let me know if it is OK to send the title with the shipper. I have the means to load it onto a pickup truck. Delivery in Eastern PA might be possible for an extra fee. I reserve the right to end this auction early as it is advertised locally. On Aug-21-14 at 16:14:18 PDT, seller added the following information: 8/21/2014 - A local motorcycle mechanic came to look at it on 8/19/14 and did a compression check. He said it was good, especially since it sat so long. He shifted through the gears (in the garage) and found nothing wrong.
