Vehicle Detail

2001 Ford Escape XLT Sport Utility 4-Door 3.0L - Strong Engine - Parts or Repair I've been thinking of parting this out myself, especially since the engine and body are in such good shape. I will do that if it doesn't sell here. But for now, perhaps the easiest/quickest path for me is to sell it whole and move on. Toreador Red Pearl Metallic Clearcoat The Autocheck score is pushed down because it lists four owners. But I have owned this Escape for 50,000 miles and would still be driving it today but for thr trans problem. The good. Strong running engine. Clean interior. New Jersey inspection good through January 2016. New ECU. Complete brake job, calipers, rotors and all. With two exceptions noted below, the body is in excellent condition. Smoke free vehicle. AC blows cold. Cruise control works fine. The bad. Bad trans (moves, but not far). Like many Escapes, this one has clear coat issues on the rear hatch and right quarter panel. Missing radio. Missing trim on front bumper cover that starts the trim wrap up and over the wheel well. Two tires will need to be replaced soon. Small tear in center console cover. Stone nick in windshield. Small bump in front lip of hood (really have to look hard in the picture to see it.) And again, like almost every Escape I know, the cloth trim on the inside door panels have all come unglued. Some history. I don't know what the previous owners did with this Escape, since I bought it from a dealer. The Autocheck history doesn't disclose anything. Initially, I did have a lot of work that had to be done. When I purchased this car from a dealer, the car had a bend in the radiator support bar. I had a body shop pull that straight for me. My mechanic also recommended replacing the front axle and the entire brake system, which I had them do. 50,000 good miles since then, though. Fender bender around May 2011 (not our fault!) which explains the new left fender, new bumper cover, new grill and new headlights. (I had them replace both headlights so they would match). Autocheck even describes it as "MINOR." The battery is disconnected, so I do not have the actual mileage. I believe it is closer to 155,000, but to be safe I listed it as 158,000. Please ask any questions before bidding on items. $500 deposit via Paypal required. Review my excellent feedback in 17 years on eBay, and please bid with confidence. This vehicle is sold as-is. Vehicle must be towed. Thank you, and good luck bidding! On Aug-18-14 at 15:40:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Monday... The hood latch popped very nicely, but the safety latch was hard to release from the hood. I got it opened, but I think the pivot point there needs to cleaned and lubed. I hooked up the battery this afternoon. It still needed a bit of a charge. Turned it over and the engine still sounds great! I was able to go in forward and reverse, with a little feathering of the gas pedal, and put the car indoors so I could keep a trickle charger hooked up. I am adding a picture of the engine bay. While I was behind the wheel, I took note of the actual mileage:155,237Apparently, my memory isn't so bad after all!One other clarification came to me while driving it. I said (above) the car is clean. By that, I mean no undisclosed rips, tears, holes, bad smells, etc. It could use a vacuuming.
