Up for sale is this 1986 Toyota Tercel SR5 4WD wagon. This car has the 3AC 1.5 liter four cylinder engine with a six speed manual transmission. The extra gear is only accessible when the car is in four wheel drive and is just to the left of first gear (Extra Low). A single speed transfer case that is lever operated switches the car between 4WD and FWD, not rear wheel drive like most pickups. There are no switchable hubs to have to worry about. Car has power steering, power brakes, A/C, interval wipers, rear wiper/washer, white steel wheels, and a roof rack. Car is riding on Michelin X radial tires with 40% front/70% rear tread remaining. Overall condition is very good. The body of the car is solid except for a small rust hole behind driver's side rear wheel. There are typical scuffs, scratches, and dings you would expect of a 28 year old car, but nothing major. There are no holes or tears in the seats or interior door panels. Mechanical condition is also very good. A new complete Sachs clutch kit (and rear main seal) was installed at 175,000 miles when I purchased the car from the original owner's family. I have all records of work performed on the car since I've owned it, but nothing before that. Many parts replaced by me have been factory TOYOTA parts. The most major parts have been a new fuel tank and exhaust from the cat rearward. Just this previous week, I replaced the timing belt, tensioner, and tensioner spring. State inspection is current through December of this year. I believe this car could be driven just about anywhere as I have taken it on a 500+ mile round trip without issues, but as it is 28 years old, I cannot offer any guarantees or warranty of any kind. Foul winter weather performance has been excellent for me. I drove it every day in the brutal 2009-10 winter we had here in Virginia, the worst in recent memory. I would like to keep it, but my wife now has a Toyota 4WD truck, so we don't really need two vehicles that can handle bad weather, especially since our winters are not consistently bad. I did not buy this car through Ebay, nor did I run a Carfax report on it when I bought it and the history report is vague about this issue. The odometer works on this car and displays all six digits of the mileage. The car mileage shows a consistent increase from earlier years of ownership so I don't really know what this could indicate. On Aug-18-14 at 15:22:06 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: I noticed that I have accidentally included in the Power Options List that the car has power windows. This is not the case. Both the windows and the door locks are the manual type, although the rear doors have manual child safety locks. I apologize for the bad information.
