Vehicle Detail
Here we have a pretty much unmolested, 2 owner Colorado origin '72 K20. The 2nd owner purchased this with 30k miles on it and owned it for the majority of its life. I have all of his notes he made through out the trucks history. This could be a daily driver with all the patina of its 42 years or an excellent restoration candidate as it is, for the most part, complete and original as it came from the factory. We did help it along by rebuilding the carberator, installing a new battery , new seat upholstery, new floor mat, and new dash pad. It has been converted to 16" tires and wheels (P235/85r16) In his notes we found an entry of May, 1991 where a newer 350 was installed along with other improvements, clutch etc. It does have 4:10 gears, a fifth wheel plate and ball are in the bed, his daughter informed me he used it to haul hay. If this goes to restoration, it would need cab corners and rockers, typical of this body style and vintage. the gauges work, it does have the original GM factory AM radio and it does work. I can email additional pictures if needed. If you are serious, please come and inspect, drive this truck it is complete with its 42 years of patina. Far from perfect, but not too bad for a 1972. Purchasing where is, as is, no warranty express or implied. On Aug-10-14 at 17:21:02 PDT, seller added the following information: I failed to mention in the initial posting that we also installed a new heater core. Thanks for looking! On Aug-15-14 at 06:16:11 PDT, seller added the following information: First of all, thanks to all who have bid and everyone that has inquired about the truck! Just wanted to update that we installed a new dimmer switch yesterday, and noticed the left valve cover seeping a bit so new valve cover gaskets will be included in the auction. I will check the 4wd today, hubs engaging and transfer case shifting, any problems, will report in the morning. For those interested on the restoration side, the 4 outer cab supports will have to be replaced, (normal for the vintage). We are approaching the reserve, so thanks again to all that have bid and any questions, please ask. Thank You, DougOn Aug-16-14 at 06:02:18 PDT, seller added the following information: The transfer case and lockouts work fine, had it in 4Lo and 4Hi. Transfer case shifts good. One last item of interest, the second owner did install an auxiliary fuel tank on drivers side under bed, the fill neck is in fender well. All of the fuel lines were rotten so we removed them the tank is still in-place. This type of tank is noted for rusting thru from the top as dirt, sediment rest on the top. We suspect this has already happened and is why the carb needed to be rebuilt. Just wanted everyone to know it was there and is up to new owner rather to re-use or take off truck. Thanks for the interest. Doug
