1967 Impala SS convertible The Good- the car runs and drives great, top works perfectly and the body is in really good condition considering it's age. This car warrants a cosmetic restoration as it's a TRUE Black car with Red interior and Black top. It is a factory 4 speed car as well which is REALLY rare. I have replaced the trunk floor pan as it had pin holes, and I have a set of floor pans for the driver and passenger feet. The rest of the floor is perfect. No rot on the frame and underneath is clean. Bottom of front fenders have been patched at some time and need redone, doors are perfect. Front suspension has been rebuilt, it has big block springs as I was thinking of a 396 change over. The Bad- someone put full factory GM quarters on and did a horrible job. I ground out the filler at the seam so you could see where they where put on at. They are also wavy and will need worked/blocked for black paint. There is NO rust on the quarters, drop offs have been repaired when the trunk pan was put in so metal work is all done. Drivetrain- Motor has been rebuilt at sometime, it runs beautifully and starts first crank, transmission shifts good. Shifter is a little sloppy and may need bushings but you could leave it as it is. The clutch needs adjusted, it grabs at the top of the pedal. I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS MATCHING NUMBERS, LETS ASSUME NOT. I bought this car to restore but owning a business has taken all my time and I may never get to it, NO trades as I have several classic cars and don't have time for the ones I have now. Please don't expect a new car, it is as I have described.
