1951 GMC Pickup Truck Here is one truck you don't want to miss. It is almost as original as one can find. It's been a CA truck from what I have been told since the beginning. It still wears it's black plate. I can imagine in my mind this truck at work in an old California sawmill. The truck has been maintained regularly. The engine starts right up without any hesitation. The original floor starter has been retained. It has had the seat upholstered, new rubber mat, brakes checked, engine gaskets replaced, new king pins and tie rod ends. So it runs and drives as good as it should for a 1950 truck. It has the straight 6 motor and 4 speed transmission that preforms well. The truck is clean underneath and is fairly easy to work on. I had the chassis steam cleaned to remove most of the dirt and old grease. The truck was painted once years ago the original color and has started to patina. The interior is the original color that came from the factory, but has some wear around the doors where you rest your arm. There is some light surface rust in some areas, but it is not a rust bucket. It's the perfect truck to cruise around you local town. You can drive it and actually use it and still look cool. The lights do work, but it's missing one tail light. Pretty easy to find and add back. I just haven't done it. The bed is still the original wood. There is some plywood covering it up, but it's still there below. It has one spot in the bed that has some rust where the water collected in the corner. It's pretty common on the beds.
