Vehicle Detail
Model 90 Series are considered the most luxurious Buicks ever produced. They are powered by a 345 cubic inch straight eight cylinder, producing 104 horse power. 90 Series are the only Buick that gained recognition by the Classic Car Club of America of Full Classics. The frame-up restoration was started about 15 years ago. Before starting, the car was very straight, with very solid wood. It showed 49,000 miles on the odometer, verified by a 1951 oil change sticker on the pillar. It was stored in a barn shortly thereafter, for the next 50 years. Restoration was started by sandblasting the frame and all suspension parts. Everything was then epoxy coated and finished in black urethane. High speed gears were installed in the rear end for modern day cruising. Six new tires, tubes and flaps were installed, along with 6 correct new hubcaps. Over $5,000.00 was spent on complete engine rebuild. Main and camshaft bearings have new babbitt, then line-bored. Rods were machined out for new inserts. Stainless valves and seats were installed for modern use. Crank shaft was then hardened, along with the rebuilt clutch and pressure plate. The whole assembly was then balanced. I installed a more modern down-draft carburetor for better driveability, but I also have the complet up-draft assembly. Started and generator have been rebuilt and also installed was a 6 volt alternator a second charging system. Gas tank was cleaned and sealed, with a modern sending unit and corresponding gauge. The body is all lazer straight, with beautiful black paint, done to professional standards. It has extremely nice upholstery, however on closer inspection has encountered minor moth damage in storage. I think it is fine, but do have extra mohair material for the discriminating person. Correct top materials and padding is also included. It has a new headliner and all windlace is sewn. New plating includes: Bumpers, grille shell, shift and park levers. Four outside door handles are recast in stainless steel. Also included is a set of new running board moldings. All new glass is cut and have new gaskets and channels, etc. New wiring harness with turn signals, with the frame portion installed, but not the rest. The car has extremely rare spare tire covers and optional truck rack. The car is started and driven around the yard each year and drives very smooth. I have tried to honestly describe everything, but other new parts are too numerous to list. I have set a very modest reserve, which hardly covers the cost of the parts. Sadly all labor costs will be lost. Any questions please feel free to contact me as I don't want any dissapointment or negative feedback. Buyer will be responsible for any shipping, but I will assist with loading at my residence. I could have the fenders temporarily bolted on for ease of shipping. Terms are: $1,000.00 deposit via pay-pal within 48 hours of auction end, the balance to be deposited through my local bank within 14 days of auction close. All money paid is in U.S. dollars. All funds verified before vehicle leaves. On Jul-27-14 at 06:24:02 PDT, seller added the following information: 07/27/2014 - I've been receiving numerous questions regarding the completeness of the car. The only thing I know that is missing on the car is a crank hole cover and the Buick script badge between the headlights. If my reserve is met I have decided to include many extra parts including a complete engine and transmission assembly, extra front fender, radiator and re-plateable shroud. I will also include manuals and literature.
