Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1996 GMC Sierra 3500 Diesel with 160k original miles. No rust on this truck whatsoever as this was our oversized load pilot vehicle for our semi-truck, and has been in the Kentucky/Indiana area since 1999. As we no longer have a use for a pilot vehicle, we brought this back to NY strictly to sell as this is our second rust-free 6.5 diesel in our fleet that we will be selling this month. Has a hitch in the bed, amber light on the roof, airbag suspension in the rear, brand new tires (week old) on the front, recent tires on the rear - all 10 ply load E rated, and most importantly just had the original transmission taken out and completely rebuilt with every update for the 4L80E possible, along with a heavy duty torque converter from Professional Transmission in Marcy, NY and Frank's Transmission in Rome two weeks ago with receipts to show. Cost $2400 for the transmission work alone. Within the past 250 miles, we put in two brand new AC Delco batteries, new coolant, severe duty air filter, new fuel filter, oil changed with Rotella, brand new high-torque starter with heavy duty mounting bolts, and we're just about to put on the manual wastegate for the Turbo. If you know 6.5s, you know the common weak point on these motors is the factory vacuum pump, which we've replaced three times since new. The new owner will get what we put on every 6.5 we have - a manual spring-operated wastegate to replace the common failed vacuum-operated system. The old vacuum pump has been bypassed and a proper-sized serpentine belt has just been installed to ensure reliability. This truck also has a brand new PMD with relocation kit, which is a must-have for any 6.5 Diesel. Just had the interior and exterior professionally detailed inside and out, and it shows. While it is a used vehicle and does have its imperfections, I think you can tell from the pictures that there's not many trucks like this around anymore, in this kind of condition, with no rust whatsoever. The undercarriage was undercoated when new and at no point in time was there any kind of spray on undercoating sprayed over anything to cover anything up. It looks like new underneath. This is the rare four-door model, and 2WD, which gets surprisingly great MPG. As such, this truck would make a perfect hauling truck or just a daily driver for someone that wants the ability to tow anything. The only thing I can think of that this truck needs is the factory radio to be reconnected. We had an aftermarket navigation installed in the factory mounting slot but kept all the original wires intact, so the new owner would have to reconnect the factory radio if they want, or just use an aftermarket like we did if you want navigation. I'm being as picky as possible to give a detailed description to out of state buyers who can't come to look at the truck before bidding. Located in Rome, NY and I can be reached on my cell anytime for questions at (315) 464-0636. $500 Non-refundable deposit due within 48hrs of auction end, full payment due within 7 days.
