****PICTURES BELOW DESCRIPTION**** First, a little history on the Ford LTD LX:With the demand growing for sport sedans, Ford came up with the LTD LX. The LX looked the part of the performer it was made to be with special charcoal bumper guards, rub strips, moldings, mirrors and sporty red-orange accents. The front grille is color-keyed to the body and, in the rear there’s a chrome-plated twin tip exhaust pipe extension. Under the hood was a standard High Output 5.0 fuel injected V8 with 165 HP mated to an Automatic Overdrive transmission with a Traction-Lok 3:27 rear axle. Special modifications to the Ford LTD suspension produce the unique handling capability of the LX. Gas filled shocks and struts along with heavy duty front and rear springs are tuned for tight handling. The large front and rear sway bars add to its great cornering control. Goodyear Eagle GT HR tires were standard and the best tire for the money at the time. A faster rate steering rack was also part of the handling package of the LX. Drivers were treated to a 6 way power bucket drivers seat with lumbar support for the driver and passenger as well. A special dash with tachometer was standard along with tilt column and leather wrapped steering wheel, a floor mounted shifter and center console and charcoal premium upholstery with oxford gray accents. The LX was produced from 1984 to 1986, total production was only 3250. The 1985-86 model was more re-find than the 1984 model. There were very few 1986 LX’s and I have only seen one. Ford did very little to promote the LX as it was to be replaced with the new Taurus for 1986. New- Tires Radiator hoses Battery Alternator The tires are 95% tread. Head liner is excellent Leather wrapped steering wheel is in great shape Under the hood is clean and original The body is in great shape with NO rust. The paint is old but still shines with a wax and is a good ten footer. There are multiple small hail dents all over as the car was from Wyoming originally. The chrome shines bright and is very nice. The interior is very nice and presentable with no rips or tears in the carpet or upholstery. The fabric has faded over the years as to be expected. The piping on the driver side outer edge has multiple cracks. It has Mustang CHP 10 hole wheels on it right now, they are not stock but look great on this car. This LX is a pleasure to drive and looks great. You won't be disappointed in its overall function and appearance for a 29 year old car.
