Vehicle Detail
Honda built these bikes to try to introduce the automatic transmission in motorcycles. They never really caught on but I don't know why. It will cruise 80 mph and gets great fuel mileage. They are easy and fun to ride and are maintenance free. I see high mileage ones that are still running great. I am sure that I will regret moving this one out of my collection, but there are only a certain number of stalls in my barn. The bike is as near mint as a 1981 can be. It could easily be the nicest CM400A in existence. The only blemishes are extremely minute and come from 34 years of moving around the shop. The saddlebags are clean. The fairing is not scratched. It has one of those luggage racks that featured an adjustable sissy bar that slides back for 2 passengers or all the way up to be a backrest for the driver. It looks a little weird but is very functional and comfortable. The sissy bar also has the original Honda pad and storage pouch on it. It has front and rear engine guards. It even has the old friction type cruise control. I own 25 bikes and this little tourer is always one of the first I show off. It looks great and runs as good as it looks. I think it deserves a home where it will get a little more attention. I have a shipper who ships very reasonably or I will deliver it myself for $1.50 a mile one way. Satisfaction is guaranteed except for shipping. Look at the pics carefully. There are some very small blemishes that the camera can't pick up. you will have to look carefully to see them when you are actually looking at the bike. It is up for sale and I am sure it won't bring what I think it is worth; but, I am not giving it away either. The original tool kit and owners manual are included. If you want a little piece of motorcycle history that looks great, is a blast to ride, and extremely functional; then you should bid! If you have questions feel free to call Roger 304-255-9490
