Vehicle Detail

1990 CHEVORLET CAMARO IROC 5.0 TPI AUTOMATIC Up for auction is a Rare 1990 IROC in Medium Blue Metallic. The car is in wonderful shape for being 24-25 years Total production for 1990 Camaros was cut by more than a third from the previous year to 34,896, though this is not exactly a correct representation of interest in the year. Since IROC stands for International Race of Champions, a race Chevrolet had been sponsoring for years, they were able to use the name. In 1990, Dodge took over sponsorship of the event, and therefore no Camaro IROC models were produced after December 31, 1989. To compensate for this, the 1991 Camaros were introduced early. Though there were not many produced, a simple way to identify a 1990 Camaro is that it is the only model that has the airbag and updated instrument panel, but doesn’t have the scooped side valences that would be introduced the following year. Naturally, then, the 1990 IROCs are the only IROCs with the updated instrument panels As would be expected, production of the IROC was very low for the portion of the model year it was produced, and only 4,213 were made before the discontinuation of the model. Of these, 1,294 were convertibles. The IROC convertible this year came standard for the first time with 16-inch aluminium wheels as opposed to the 15-inch wheels that were standard on the non-convertible models. The IROCS were only offered in 5 colors this year, with 2 of the colors being red (Brilliant Red and Bright Red). This leaves Black, White and Blue as the other choices. Paint Code 98 (Bright Blue) was offered on 5,069 Camaros for 1990. This includes the RS, RS Convertible, IROC & IROC Convertible. With all this being said, the 1990 IROC is the lowest production IROC of any of the years. As for this car:This is a wonderful example of a survivor IROC. There is almost 125,000 miles on the car, but you would never know it. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN! The car was rustproofed with Rusty Jones when it was bought. The underside is beautiful along with the engine compartment. The shock Towers are perfect. There is a bit of bubbling on the rear fender flare. The only noticeable rust is under the hatch (almost every IROC has this issue). It is evident that this car was well kept. There are some imperfections (A few Rock Chips, a couple of scratches, and 3 door dinks to be exact) There is also a bit of evidence of ignorant Illinois drivers attempting to park near this car, but all in all, its in GREAT shape for a Camaro. The 5 litre TPI eagerly starts and does not puff any smoke on a cold start. The 700R4 Transmission shifts perfect and smooth just as it should. There are no whines or noises from the rear end. The dash pad has a blemish on the drivers side ear.General upkeep and maintenance looks as it has been done. I just changed oil, Transmission and brake fluids. Recently............ Brakes, Shocks, sway bar links, have been replaced. Brand new Good Year High Miler Hoses have been replaced as well as a Goodyear Gatorback serpentine belt. Speaking of Goodyear......the car has been outfitted with Goodyear GForce Comp 2 tires on all 4 corners (yeah...that was expensive) A newer Optima Red Top Battery is installed. The T-Tops do not leak, and all of the seals on the car are soft and pliable. The interior has been upgraded to 4th Generation Leather seats (matching Grey) and the power driver seat works. Both Driver and passenger seats power bolster and lumbar adjustments work.AC and CRUISE CONTROL WORK! The power windows and the rear window are tinted. Please see the uploaded high resolution photos that document the condition of this car.Email for any questions. A $500 non refundable deposit is required via paypal within 12 hours of auctions end. The remainder will be tendered by Cashiers check or good old American cash prior to the release of the title.Shipping is the sole responsibility of the BUYER. I will store the vehicle for a reasonable amount of time after payment is made so the buyer can arrange shipping. This auto is being offered AS IS AND SHOWN! I have described this car to the best of my ability, I am not a mechanic, nor am I a car dealer. There is no warranty expressed or implied. Please understand that you are bidding to own this car, not to be the first to decide if you want it. Please bid accordingly.
