1957 Chevrolet 1/2Ton Short-box Pickup As the story usually goes, this was a project started but never completed and is now being sold in order to focus on other projects! This truck is VERY complete and has a clear Montana Title…perfect for a full restoration or would make a great custom or streetrod! Please take a good look at the pictures and notice how nice this one is! RUNNING GEAR: The original 6cyl (which runs), 4spd transmission and original driveshaft were removed to make way for a V8 and automatic. The V8 and automatic ARE NOT included in the sale, but the original 6cyl, 4spd and driveshaft ARE. The rear end seems mechanically sound. The original radiator is also included, but probably needs to be re-cored. SHEET METAL: The exterior of the truck is also very complete and in VERY solid condition. The grille is brand new! The sheet metal – fenders, rockers, cab corners, doors, running boards, box sides, tailgate etc. – is free from rust and may have only minor dents/dings that need to be ironed out. The original hole for the gas tank filler neck has been filled with the intent of putting a fuel cell in the bed of the pickup. This is easily reversed, though, and the original tank is included and in good condition. The old wood from the bed has been removed and is ready for a new wood kit or however you choose to finish it off. The original front bumper is included (pictured on the truck), but a brand new chrome bumper (still in the cardboard) is included with the truck. All the exterior chrome emblems are also included. INTERIOR: The interior of the truck is very complete and in VERY solid condition. The floor is very solid with only a couple pin holes of rust – this floor DOES NOT need to be replaced. The seat has been newly reupholstered. A number of brand new parts/pieces for the interior include: all new weather stripping, new firewall sound deadener, new headliner insert. The gauges are complete and in good condition and, to my knowledge, work well. The rest of the dash is complete and in good condition as well. This vehicle has a clear Montana Title and a notarized Bill of Sale will also be issued. This vehicle is being sold in “as-is,” “where-is” condition.
