Vehicle Detail

What you see here is my old project Explorer that I have put a lot of work into to make roadworthy. It is now in need of a transmission swap or rebuild but otherwise runs well and has had a lot of work done. It has 270,000 miles on it, but the engine runs strong, and it lot drives. I bought this thing a few years ago to fix up and use as a cheap truck, but I have since decided to buy a new truck, and I already have enough projects so this one has to go. Here is list of what I have done: - Rust repairs: was rusted through on the driver and passenger rockers. I cut out most of the rusty metal, coated it with rust encapsulator, and welded in two new dog legs at the rear of the rockers. The driver's side rocker had rust extending all the way up to the front, I cut out as much as I could, coated the rest in encapsulator, and welded sheet metal over it. The dog legs came out nice, but I left the bodywork rough on the driver's side rocker as I intended to cover it with rocker moldings (never cared too much how it looked - was a beater truck). I welded several patches in other places under the cab and covered it in undercoating. Was good enough to pass PA inspection last year. -New Brake Lines and hoses (all of them)-New front coil springs-New front Spring Perches (New OEM Ford Parts - cost me $300 right there)-New Shocks Front and Rear-New Strut Rod Bushings-New outer u-joints on the front drive axles-New Power Steering Pump-New Battery-New Cooling Fan-Replaced power steering bock with a good--used unit from a low mileage wreck-New Spark Plugs and Wires-New Fuel Filter-4 fairly new Goodyear Wranglers on it-Removed non-functioning rear ABS unit (routed new brake-lines without ABS - works fine and has better pedal feel now)-New 4WD shift motor on transfer case (won't shift into low range for some reason, but 4WD high works fine)-New Valve cover gaskets (had to patch a rust hole in driver's side valve cover - that's why they are painted Ford Blue)-The non-functioning automatic locking hubs have been replaced with manual locking hubs Other good things: -has a limited slip 8.8 inch rear axle-engine has high miles but still runs strong-4WD high range works fine-all power windows and door locks work fine-clear PA title The things that need attention:-Transmission is starting to slip and leaks oil from the torque converter or front pump seal. I don't think you will get far if you attempt to drive it home. -270,000 miles, so expect everything to be worn accordingly-the roof leaks a bit in heavy rain from either the windshield or the roof rack -It has AC, but it doesn't work. There was no Freon in it when I bought the truck, so I have no idea what it needs.-the stereo cassette deck doesn't work. -small chip in the windshield, but it passed inspection last year.-PA state inspection lapsed in March. -still more rust hiding underneath, I know the lower radiator support is pretty rusty. -other oil leaks are likely, but I can't tell. Basically, this is a high mileage old truck which can be fixed or used for parts. The reserve is less that what I have tied up in this truck; I'm not making any money here. I reserve the right to end the auction early if the reserve is not met, as the first person that shows up with $800 in cash takes it home. Buyer to pay any state sales taxes and any other transfer fees in your home state. It must be picked up within 2 weeks of the close of the auction. Thanks for looking and feel free to ask any questions.
