1988 Toyota MR2Vintage Two SeaterToyota TVIS 1600 EngineT-Tops / Power Windows Manual Five Speed TransmissionI recently purchased this vehicle, The MR2 runs and drives but needs some repairs.There is an issue with overheating, after about five to ten miles of driving the vehicle overheats.I have not delved into the cause of the overheating. The MR2 leaks oil and the cold idle is around2500rpm. There are some rust spots and some interior issues and a mild grinding sound on hard turns.All that being said, the MR2 has good compression and is responsive and quick. The electricals work...the headlights,power windows (drivers side window is labored and kachunks), windshield wipers. The alignment is near perfect.The odometer reads 300k...The previous owner mentioned that the engine had beenreplaced 36k previous but had no documentation. On the lid of the engine compartmentis a shop sticker stating a timing belt replacement at 264k. I'm assuming the entire TVIS 1600 wasreplaced 36k ago. The stopper on the coolant tank is missing and could possibly be the cause of the overheating.It might be a simple fix or extensive repairs needed.There may be other elements of repair needed / Vehicle pick up is the responsibility of the buyer / The Toyota is being sold as is and will need to be towed/transported by buyerThe Toyota is located in Ruther Glen Virginia / Zipcode 22546
