Vehicle Detail
1970 Chevrolet Malibu A very solid and original car that was built in the Van Nuys California plant. It was sold new at Jim Reed Chevrolet in Glendora, California. It remained in CA. with the original owner until 4 or 5 years ago. It was purchased by a guy that was going to make an SS clone out of it. The car spent several years with him and was always stored inside a nice shop. He kept it in good running condition while he owned it. His plans changed and he sold the car to me. He told me that it was the most solid old Malibu that he had ever seen and I agree with that statement. The previous owner removed the Malibu trim strips on the sides of the car as he was going to convert it to an SS clone. I have bought trim replacements and have installed the door and quarter panel pieces. I have not put on the front fender trim spears, but I do have them and they will go with the car, in case it was going to be restored as a Malibu. This car has been very well cared for it's entire life. It was never modified, it is still pretty much original including the paint. This car has absolutely no rust that I can find other than very light surface rust, nothing serious. The undercarriage is as clean as the top. It does not look as if it has ever been hit or had any panels replaced. It is easy to see what you are getting because of the car still having it's original paint. This car has 54,874 original miles. The engine is strong and does not smoke. It does leak some when parked for a while. The automatic transmission operates with no issues and shifts well. Included in the sale are all records for the car including the original window sticker and part of a build sheet.. It shows an original sticker price of $3497.70. This is truly a survivor car. Unmolested rust free California car. I have owned her since 2012 and have enjoyed owning and driving it. I put a new battery in in recently and put a new heater core in it. This is a "Buy it Now" listing with a sale price of $13,750.00. This is the least amount that I will take for the car. I do not want to lose money on a car this solid. I believe it is well worth the price because of the originality, especially if you are a buyer looking for a great platform to build upon. Please check out all of the photos as they are part of the description as well. This car runs and drives great! It could be used as a daily driver, but more than likely it will be restored or converted to an SS This car has a clear Kentucky Title showing 54,752 miles. Historic Vehicle License Plates. The successful high bidder will submit a $500.00 Non-Refundable deposit within 48 hours of close of auction, with the balance due before vehicle pick up. CASH in person or BANK WIRE TRANSFER are requested. All financial transactions must be complete prior to the release of the vehicle. It is located in Bowling Green, Ky. (55 miles north of Nashville Tn.) I encourage potential buyers to come and look at the car in person, I want the new owner of this car to be very happy with it.
