Vehicle Detail
This posting is for the trans am project car that I've owned for about 2 and a half years now. I'm going to be as honest as possible with this thing because I want everyone to know what they're getting into. This is a project car, it is for fun, it is not a daily driver (yet). There are two categories of information about this car, there's good news and bad news, here's the good news:GOOD:you have a great foundation for an AWESOME vehicle. It has:-silly 301 from 1980 replaced with a 1973 casting 400 block-rebuilt engine bored 0.060" over, new crank, new pistons, new cam, new main (performance clevite) and rod bearings-rebuilt 6x heads with new valves, seals, springs, everything-dual true magnaflow exhaust-long-tube ceramic coated headers (newly coated with ceramic)-rebuilt turbo 350 tranny with race clutches, hardened sprag (so you don't blow it up floorin it out of a stoplight), and a street shift kit-brand new edelbrock 750cfm electric choke carb-brand new edelbrock performer intake manifold, painted black with some engine paint-new alternator-new power steering pump-new starter-ALL new brake cylinders all the way around-new adjustable proportioning valve for brakes-new brake master cylinder-original LSD rear (don't know gears, but who cares it's a fun car)-only 2 dime size rust holes on the floor pan, you can leave them and not worry about it. No damaging rust on the front fenders, bumper, hood, etc. -new, primed 400 shaker with a new air cleaner base, shaker is not cutOk, that's the good news, you have an awesome foundation a sweet set of wheels. It can be driven onto a trailer or whatever you want to use to move it right now. I've taken it to work recently without any problems; the motor only has 50 miles on it and it's doing great so far. But you should drive it like a grandma til it reaches about a 1000 miles so you don't throw a bearing or something. I wanted to do the break-in myself, but I'm moving soon and need to get rid of this thing, it requires too much of my attention and while it's been an awesome project i'm in a point in life where I just can't hold onto it anymore. So here's the bad news:-I haven't washed it in a loonngggg ass time, so it's got hand prints all over from where I've been working on it.-paint looks good from a distance, but it's jacked up in many places.-The interior on this thing is straight up busted. Its a piece of shit. the whole thing needs to be redone to look good-It could use some electrical love, could stand to have the window motors rewired, and some of the engine harness, and dash lights and stuff, but right now it starts up, the headlights work, and it drives.-turn signal clutch on the steering wheel needs to be replaced, turn signals don't work right now. -it needs some legit body work up front to get the hood and fenders and stuff lined up right-trunk is rusted pretty bad you can see that in the pictures, you can put stuff in there now, but it should really be cut out and replaced-weather stripping should probably be replaced all around The deal with this car is that there's lots of work to do if you wanted to restore it and make a hotrod out of it. It's not the original engine, but for this year it's better that way if you ask me. It's a cool body with lots of potential, but lots of love needed. I've wanted to keep working on this thing but just have found that my lifestyle doesn't lend itself to the amount of energy and time needed to fix it up body-wise. I put in the time to get the drivetrain ready to go and drive around town. I have waaaayyyyyy more money in this project than I'm listing it for, but I'm moving soon and I have to get rid of it, and now is the right time for me to part ways with it. So this is a no reserve auction, I'll work with whoever purchases it to have it picked up and shipped, but it's up to you to arrange that. For what I'm listing it you could buy the thing and part it out for more money, it's a steal. Shoot me questions.
