1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited - 4x4 - V8 Engine - 110,028 Miles NY State residents please know your restrictions when bidding on this vehicle. Nice leather interior and sunroof. This truck is going to the highest bidder in "As Is" condition! No Reserve! No Buy It Now! Strong motor and tranny - no leaks, noises, misfire, overheating, smoking or slippage. The front axle boots are ripped and there is a humming noise coming from the front end after you reach 40 mph. Body is good but the paint is faded in spots. The spare is flat and the right front tire is a 225-75-16. The other 3 are 225-70-16. Someone said this is why there is a humming noise coming from the front differential area. The computer monitors are set but it will not pass inspection because it needs rear brake pads and possibly a caliper and rotor. If any NY State resident wants to bid and buy, add up to $250.00 to the final bid price so I can replace the brakes (cost will be less if caliper and rotor can be reused) and get the vehicle inspected. NY State residents also add sales tax and NY State inspection fee to the final price and brake job price. Car drives fine if someone out of state buys the truck. It has a remote start. Excellent tires. Windows and power seats work fine. I was assured the AC works but the system needed to be charged every year for the past 5 years. We did not charge it this year. If the truck does not do the minimum bid it is going to the bone yard. I hate to junk it - the miles are good and has a superior motor and tranny. Because it won't pass NY State inspection (if the brakes aren't done) ... New York residents are unable to bid or buy unless they are a registered car dealer, registering/re-titling the vehicle out of state or are using it for “Parts Only”. When a car is sold as “Parts Only’ or “Salvage” it must pass a NY State “Salvage Inspection”. This is done to keep rebuilt wrecks that are unsafe off the road – especially vehicles with frame damage or airbag deployment. My cars are rarely rebuildable wrecks and therefore will easily pass this strict inspection process when the problem that is advertised is corrected. There are about 10 to 15 NY State salvage inspection sites in NY State – 2 or 3 are on Long Island and there are a couple in NY City. Call me for further clarification. As a registered NY State dealer I am unable to sell a car that won’t pass inspection to a NY State resident. Anyone else can bid and buy.
