Vehicle Detail
1960-65*** Ford Falcon Station Wagon, 3 Door. (NOTE *** Ebay requires a year model to post the ad - "1960" was entered but I DO NOT know the year model) Based on the information I have (provided below) I do not know exactly what year this Falcon was produced. The car has been stored in a barn in the South for at least 30 years. As you can see from the pictures, the engine is covered with straw and debris. It looks like all the parts for the rear door and window are in the back of the car. The tires are flat. Key is in the ignition. To follow is the information found on the door panel: Body = 59A Color = (blank) Trim = 54A Date = 14M DSO = 0093 Axel = 9 Trans = 1 Serial Number = 2A21S114085 The car is white and it looks like it had a tan/grey type interior. Best I can tell there is very little exterior rust, at least any serious accumulation that would require extensive repair. For the record: 1) It does not run, 2) There is no title (it is long gone), 3) the purchase will be AS IS, 4) No Returns EMAIL WITH ANY ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. ALL BIDS ARE FINAL. You will be responsible for: providing a trailer to move the car and loading the car. There will NOT BE any additional equipment available for assisting this process. The item is LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. NO DELIVERY You must pay CASH on PICKUP. You will be provided a Bill of Sale - AFTER - you confirm pickup on EBAY - BEFORE you leave with the vehicle. On May-20-14 at 04:16:41 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: According to several Ebayer's that sent messages about this listing, the Falcon we have listed is a 1962 model. Here is what one person sent: " HI, well you have a 1962 ford falcon 2 door station wagon .very rare to find the two doors.the red motor means its a 170cc engine. very nice. i had the same thing just four door.hey good luck on the sell.. ps. the best car iv owned" (name removed for privacy) On May-21-14 at 12:36:07 PDT, seller added the following information: There have been LOTS of questions and answers for this item and I don't know WHY they are not showing up below but anyway here are some of them: Hello, What a find. How are the floor pans? Do they have holes and how about the underside , looks like it has been sitting on a dirt floor for quite some time and thats a bad thing for the underside so close to moisture. Also do you happen to have the hood chevron, that crhome thing that goes on the front hood, looks like it is missing but maybe inside. Let me know. Thanks Hello, I suppose that by say it has been "sitting on a dirt floor" you just mean that it has been parked (i.e. the tires still keep the body from actually touching the dirt). In this case, you are correct. As for checking, 1) I did not notice any obvious holes when viewed from the interior, 2) the back seat is in the down position so I can't see the rear seat floorboard, 3) the dirt is bone dry and it stays that way even during a down pour minus what rain might blow in (i.e. the area does not flood during a rain). That's the best I can tell you Regarding the hood emblem. It might be in the back with the rest of the spare parts. Ok great thanks for the info. You said the rear door and glass in in the back. Are all the glass panels in the car in good shape, no cracks ? Are all four hubcaps there and are all sides of the car straight, no dents or major rust? ok, I went an looked and: 1) all hubcaps are there, 2) no cracks in any glass that I can see, 3) all parts for rear door are there including the glass, as well as a rear view mirror and a wiper (for back door??). Small rust spot on bottom corner of the rear door. Right rear quarter panel looks like someone painted on some primer. When I rubbed on it it did not flake off. Was brown in color (no, it was not rust). No major dents on the passenger side (not pictured) - picture available for driver, but none there either. Hello, FYI< indeed according to the VIN and the grille it is a 62, BUT, according to the VIN, It was "factory" with a 144, may have had a 170 transplanted at sometime, but the "S" code in your VIN is/was a 144, "U" code would be a 170 factory !! FYI. Rare,,, and good luck do you know if there is a back seat anywhere? It looks to me that the back seat is there but simply folded down. I did not attempt to lift it up. According to the VIN, you have a 1962. Good project car there! HI, well you have a 1962 ford falcon 2 door station wagon .very rare to find the two doors.the red motor means its a 170cc engine. very nice. i had the same thing just four door.hey good luck on the sell.. scott ps. the best car iv owned On May-24-14 at 07:52:14 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE **** - Added new picture of under carriage... This picture shows the ONE SPOT of rust under the car. The spot is located in one of the low areas under the driver floor board. THERE ARE NO OTHER SPOTS OF SIGNIFICANT RUST THAT I CAN SEE (visual inspection with flashlight). Also of interest, the inside of the floor has a (looks factory) plastic mat. It would seem that these would have provided some protection to the interior floors. Lastly, one person suggested that since the car was in a barn that the dirt floor would be detrimental. Actually the part of the barn that the car has been sitting was concrete (with a little layer of dirt and hay etc. on top). On May-24-14 at 07:57:56 PDT, seller added the following information: ADDENDUM TO UNDER BODY RUST SPOT - In case it's hard to tell, the spot in question is no more than 1.5" x 4" (probably less but I didn't want to under estimate) Also, the above about the mat should have said "... seem that THIS would..." It looks to be one solid mat over the whole floor of the car.
