This is my 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser fj40. This is an original soft top land cruiser, it has a Chevrolet 350 5.7l that has around 20,000 miles on it. This was a crate motor I purchased and not a rebuild. The transmission is a Muncie sm420 4-speed. It has a newer front axle assembly I purchased for the purpose of disk brakes. it has a new clutch and recent transfer case re-build. The front u-joints need to be changed but I don't use it enough to justify changing them. 35x12.50x15 BFG mud terrains sitting on Wheel vintiques rims that are 8" The paint and body was done here at a local shop although not perfect I am pleased with it. I looked for two years to find the original factory soft top doors to restore (VERY HARD TO FIND). New fuel tank purchased from SOR.com as well as all the lights and a few other hard to find parts. The headlight are converted to an h-4 bulb called a 7" Round Eye that does away with the old sealed beam headlights. The seats were re-upholstered here at a local shop and look great. The fj has power steering and cruises straight down the road. It is a bumpy noisy ride but hey that's what they are. It has heat and no a/c. The heater works great for winters here in Arkansas. This is a great rig and lots of fun. The only thing I have not done to it is purchase an original Factory style soft top, it would finish off that deep safari look. This rig is not perfect but if you want to own a great FJ40 this is it. The mileage is approximate as I drive it daily.
