Vehicle Detail

1967 Triumph 2000 Sedan- Here is a very interesting, little known and infectiously appealing little sedan. It features a four-speed manual gearbox, four wheel independent suspension (as found on the TR4 IRS) and a torquey in-line 6 cylinder engine. For more history on these cool little sedans, click on this link: Triumph 2000 Sedan This example has just completed a very long suburban carport slumber in Charlotte, North Carolina. We acquired the car from the third owner, who is a Marine (retired). He purchased a car from a fellow Marine, who purchased it from a fellow Marine, who purchased it new at Plaza Auto Sales in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 13th, 1968. The gentleman we purchased the car from was selling it because he knew he would never get to it. We purchased the car so we could find it a good home rather than let it end up at the crusher. The car comes with a clear North Carolina title, a very interesting stack of receipts from throughout it's history and it's original Triumph Service Manual. The condition of the engine is unknown as the car has been parked for quite some time. The body is extremely solid and only has superfluous surface rust where the paint has become thin. We looked carefully and found no rust through at all. The car is very complete and would make a VERY cool restoration project for any current or budding Triumph enthusiast. All the windows roll up and down easily and all the glass is in excellent condition, except for the rear glass (as you can see in the pictures), which is broken. The owner did not even know the window was broken when we picked it up as the whole car was covered in pollen and dust from sitting in that carport all those years. The middle part rattled loose on the trailer during the trip to Georgia. We do have an easy source for the rear glass used and inexpensive in Jacksonville, Florida and will provide that information to the winning bidder. Most of the 2000 sedans you will find in the US are right hand drive and have been imported from Britain to the US by private individuals. With Britain being an island, most of those examples have been adversely affected by the tin worm (rust). This car is fairly rare as it was actually built for the US market and sold new here. This example only survives because it has only ever lived in Nevada and North Carolina and has been kept in the dry for much of it's life. These cars have a small but extremely loyal following here in the United States and parts are easily available used through club members or new through Rimmer Brothers in the UK. Here is a link to their website: Rimmer Brothers The wiring on this 2000 is original and appears to be unmolested. I have many more pictures, including many of the underside, posted at this Photo Bucket link: Photo Bucket Link Since this car does not run and hasn't been on the road in a LOT of years, it will have to be collected with a trailer. We have plenty of help on hand to get it loaded up and strapped down and our schedule is flexible. The car comes with all four original wheels and hub caps. The two MGB wheels on the front do not go with the car. We only put them on as the original front tires would not hold air. Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks for considering this awesome little car!
