Vehicle Detail
I bought this Alfa Romeo 10 years ago for my daughter. We planned to get it to driver level and then complete a restoration with new paint etc. My daughter used it in the summer after high school graduation and for summers during college. She used it for trips to the Eastern Shore (beach) and occasionally around the area, but she always had a nearly new regular car for driving to work etc. The car has been uused sparingly over the past five years and since my daughter moved to Europe for good, we have to sell the car. And since summer is coming it is the best time to sell it, I'm told. This car is a driver, it has plenty of cosmetic flaws but though the paint is amateurish the car is presentable, and fun to drive. Mechanically it is in great condition. The drive train is great, the engine is strong and sounds like an Alfa should. Suspension is also tight. Tires are old but have good thread. When we got the car it had been left outdoors so the interior and the convertible top were shot. Both seats and the top were replaced. Take a look at the photos and the video, there should be no complaints. There is no radio installed, but I am included a radio from the era along some manuals which you can see in the photos. There is a crack down the center of the windshield but it does not obstruct the driver's view. The original jack and a full size spare is in the trunk. We glassed the brusted floors and repaired most of the rust spots, The seat mounts were reinforced and the floor is now very solid. A full service, including a new air filter was performed a few years ago and it has maybe done 100 miles since then. The miles are, in my opinion, accurate. We ordered the OEM Alfa rubber mats for the car from Europe and they are in great condition. We thought it was a good candidate for a complete restoration when we bought it, so in driving condition as it is now, it still is a good candidate for someone that wants to enjoy for the summer and then do some restore work in the winter. This is the last of the steel bumper Alfas and I think it is very collectible. I am including a manual choke conversion assembly. Many Alfa owners do this modification for the SPICA mechanical fuel injection models which this is. The reason is that the automatic choke tends to weaken and does not lean out the mixture as much as it should. With the manual choke it can be leaned out completely manually. You get better fuel economy with this modification. Besides the manuals and parts pictured and mentioned, I do have quite a few parts for the car that the buyer can take with him. Of course this is an old car, so it is being sold as. The car drives nicely as can be seen in the video:
