Vehicle Detail

This is a one-ton pickup with a full 8-foot bed. I bought this truck a year ago and started the restoration. As it turns out, I have too many hobbies and this truck is not getting the time it deserves. To date, I have done the following: · Entirely new brake system · New two barrel carburator · New fuel pump and fuel lines · New oil pan gasket · New spark plugs and wires · New hoses and belts · New radial truck tires and alloy rims (I also have the original two-part tires, rims and hubcaps for those who want a historically-correct restoration). The engine is a 239 flat-head V8 and it runs strong. The transmission is a factory 4 speed although I use second through forth as first gear is very low. The truck has 45647 original miles on it. The interior shows it age and the fact that it sat in a barn for over 20 years. The body has a little rust at the bottom of each fender which is to be expected of a truck 63 years old but it is amazingly free of rust over all. I had the king pins and bushings checked and there is no play. Mechanically it is in great condition so my good start now becomes someone elses’ baby. On Apr-20-14 at 18:19:01 PDT, seller added the following information: I did not have a key to the original ignition switch. I searched for someone who could pick the switch but with no luck so I replaced the switch with a modern version. I have the original switch too. I was going to give the original switch to a locksmith and have him take it apart to make a key as the door is keyed the same.On Apr-21-14 at 16:29:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Tail gate is slightly bent.
