WAREHOUSE CLEAROUT! 1979 CBX1000 VIN#CB12007897 BIKE HAS CLEAR VA TITLE, TITLED AS 1980 HAS 1979 ON FRAME NECK AND WAS 1979 SILVER ORG. WAS PROB SOLD IN 1980 AND TITLED. I HAVE OWNED THIS 1979 CBX 1000 FOR A FEW YEARS. IT HAS THE FACTORY SPORT KIT , HANDLE BARS , REAR SET FOOTPEG MOUNTS AND, GEAR SHIFTER, THROTTLE HANDLE AND CABLES ARE ALSO DIFF IN THE SPORT KIT. THIS SEAT IS FROM MY OTHER CBX AND HAS BEEN CUT DOWN ABOUT 2 INCHES IN THE FRONT DRIVER AREA AND RECOVERED. THIS IS THE KERKER 6 INTO 2 SYSTEM THAT WAS ON IT WHEN I GOT IT. I DID REPACK THE MUFFLERS WITH NEW PACKING , IT WAS WAY TOO LOUD AND SOUNDS MUCH BETTER AFTER REPACKING. I STARTED TO REPAINT OR POWDER COAT THEM BUT THOUGHT ID SAVE SOMTHING FOR THE NEW OWNER. I BOUGHT IT FROM A MAN THAT HAD REMOVED THE MOTOR FROM THE FRAME AND WAS PLANING ON A BIG BORE KIT . THE ENGINE WAS DISASEMBLED AND THE STOCK PISTONS AND CYLINDER WERE MISSING. I HAD A FEW OTHER CBX HONDAS AT THE TIME AND TOOK SOME OF THE PARTS OFF OF THIS 1 AND SWAPED WITH MINE, AND STUCK THIS 1 IN OUR WAREHOUSE. THAT IS WHY THE (FRONT) FOOTPEG RUBBERS ARE A LITTLE WORE, AND THE REAR FENDER IS FROM ANOTHER BIKE NOT THIS BIKE . I ALSO SWAPED THE TANK AND SEAT TAIL FIN FROM MY PAINTED BIKE TO THIS BIKES STOCK PAINTED STUFF. I USED A CYLINDER FROM A PARTS BIKE AND ORDERED A NEW COMP, GASKET SET AND A NEW 1146CC BIG BORE KIT 2 WEEKS AGO AND DECIDED I WANTED TO HEAR THIS 1 RUN. THIS BIKE NOW HAS ALL (NEW) CAM CHAINS,BIG BORE KIT 1146CC,COMPLETE GASKET SET,OIL AND FILTER,AIR FILTER,AFTERMARKET MIRRORS, REAR TIRE. SOME WHERE IN THE REBUILD A CYLINDER FIN (GOT CRACKED )SEE PICS I JUST NOTICED IT DAMN!!!! THE MILES ARE ACT, 3580 THE SPEEDO AND TAC BOTH WORK GREAT AND IT IS CHARGING LIKE NEW, THE FRONT TIRE IS A NEW DUNLOP BUT IT WAS ON THE BIKE WHEN I GOT IT AND IS OLD. I REBUILT THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKE MASTER CYLINDERS, BUT DID NOT USE A REBUILD KITS JUST CLEANED THEM AND THE SLAVES UP SO I COULD RIDE IT A BIT . THE BRAKE PADS FRONT AND REAR ALL LOOK NICE LIKE NEW BUT USED. IT PROB SHOULD HAVE NEW KITS INSTALED. I DID INSTALL A NEW REAR TIRE SO I COULD RIDE IT. IT HAS RAINED ALLMOST EVERY DAY SINCE I GOT IT BACK UP AND RUNNING SO I HAVE NOT PUT BUT 5 MILES ON THE NEW REBUILD KIT . I DO PLAN ON RIDING IT SOME BEFORE IT IS SOLD SO THE MILES WILL GO UP SOME. NOT MUCH! TODAY 4/3/2014 I RODE IT ANOTHER 40 MILES OR SO . ENGINE SOUNDS AND RUNS GREAT, IDLES GOOD, CLUTCH AND TRANS, WORK GREAT. THIS BIKE HAS A SET OF AFTERMARKET REAR SHOCKS, AND THE LH 1 IS DRIPPING A LITTLE OIL. I THINK THEY ARE OLINS ? AND MAY BE REBUILDABLE? I REALY LIKE THE WAY IT RUNS AND PULLS.... AND THE SOUND IS JUST 1 OF A KIND...HONDA CBX. I REALY LIKE IT AND WILL RIDE IT A LITTLE BIT MORE !!! BIKE IS LOCATED AT MY SHOP IN KINGSPORT TENNESSEE 37660 AND MUST BE PICKED UP HERE , AND CAN BE SEEN ANY TIME FROM 9-5 DURING THE WEEK.
