1968 Mustang Fastback S Code 390 4 Speed UPDATES Feel Free to make an offer. Door tag info now added, I was wrong it is a 4 speed car. I also have a 67 GT steerable roller original Highland Green 4 speed in about the same condition as this one, currently no motor no trans. Quick look introduction Numbers correct Engine and a mated C6 Tranny have what is I believe 50,000 original miles. Has 9"rear end, fold down seat. Vin 8R02S138257 Door tag info below WARRANTY NUMBER BODY COLOR TRIM DATE DSO AXLE TRANS Warranty Number: 8R02S138257 Year: 8 1968 Plant: R San Jose, CA Body Series: 02 2+2 Fastback Engine: S 390 4v V8 GT Unit: 138257 138257 Miscellaneous Vehicle Data Body: 63A 2+2 Fastback, Standard Interior Color: W Meadowlark Yellow Trim: 2A Black Crinkle Vinyl and Black Kiwi Vinyl, Standard Interior Date: 06B February 06, 1968 D.S.O: Axle: 7 3.25:1, Conventional Trans: 5 4-Speed Manual I'm throwing the ad up a little preliminary in case someone wants to make an offer on it the way it is... The "buy it now" price is for in running and lot driving condition for easier shipping, will still need full restoration. By the time you have shipping arranged, I can have it ready to drive on to a transporter. If you would like us to restore it that can be arranged, since that's what we do. Any offer will be considered for in "as is" condition The car is currently a roller, I can bring it up to whatever condition needed for the sale. Current Condition Body Needs trunk drops, passenger compartment floors, drivers rail under drivers floor, patch in front pass rail under steering arm mount, rear rails from wells back, quarters, and outer wheel houses I'm sure. Under hood looks good with the exception of under the battery box needing replaced. Trunk floor doesn't look too bad, same for inner wheel houses, rockers, frame rails and shock towers. Small hole in trunk lid (pictured) odd place for a rust hole given there is no other rust on the trunk lid. Fenders will need work, doors look good but I would imagine they need some corner work. No rust through on the GT hood but it will need body work Interior/Glass Dash is complete, but the column needs installed. Door panels are there but are rough, complete with handles and cranks, needs arm rests. No front seats, no rear seat bottom no carpet, so you can see what you are getting on the floors. Rear fold down seat section is complete including trap door, latches, and side panels. Seat belts are there. All glass is good. Chassis/Drive Terrain 1968 390 and C6 transmission(out of car) (If you want a monster I also have a 68 427 side oiler short block that could be worked into the deal.) Front manual disc brakes, 9"rear end, power steering. Old school Keystone Klassic Wheels. Long tube headers. Summary A nice 68 Mustang S code 390 that has all the right parts to start you off on the right foot on your restoration. Most everything is there to make a driver, but lets face it, its the big block car everyone is after, you probably want to start off new surface stuff. These cars are getting more valuable by the day as fewer and fewer of these big blocks are available. So make your move now on building a Mustang that will not only be fun to drive and restore but also is a great investment. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Thanks, chad
