This 2002 Ford Explorer starts right up and will drive down the road but it needs some work. It could make a good truck for someone once a few things get fixed. The Carfax shows 2 previous owners and no reported accidents or damage. There is a rear trailer hitch.

There are numerous mechanical issues that also should be taken care of. While the truck does lot drive well, the transmission does not usually shift, though it may shift under certain conditions. The heat does not work. There is a ticking coming from the dash. Front and rear brakes are both worn out, measuring at 1 mm. The passenger side outer mirror is damaged, the right rear passenger side outer door handle is broken, the hood struts do not hold the hood open, and the rear seat head rests are broken. Both front upper ball joints are loose, the right rear tie adjustment arm is loose, and the passenger side window does not work when operated from that door. There is an engine oil leak, power steering pump leak, transmission fluid leak, front differential leak, and rear differential fluid leak. The ABS warning light is ON, the Check Engine light is ON, the Overdrive light is flashing, and the SRS (Airbag) light is ON and flashing. The “Check Gauges” light is illuminated but that could just because it is almost out of fuel. In regards to tire tread depth, the front tires are in good condition and the rear tires are in fair condition.

Cosmetic/Body issues: The exterior has some scratches, scuffs, and dings, and we tried to show these issues in the photos. The interior is in average condition for the year and miles, with some wear and tear, as shown in the photos.The exterior has some significant rust areas but otherwise is in better than average condition. We didn’t notice any unusual odors. The passenger side door mirror is loose and partly held on by duct tape.

**We have disclosed the body issues we noticed during our brief inspection of the vehicle. There may be other issues that we did not see.
