Relisting due to non-payer from previous auction. *********************************************************** Well, after a lot of thought and prayer I've finally decided to put my 1967 Firebird up for sale. I've owned the car for almost 7 years and it was my best friends for quite a few years before that. Hate to see it go, but can't stand to just see it sitting in the garage any longer (plus I could use the money!!) Bidding starts at $200 and the Reserve is set at (what I think) is a reasonable amount. Someone (with some mechanical ability/knowledge) is really going to get a great deal on a cool car. Let's start off with some good stuff: Drivetrain: Engine was rebuilt around 2006. (probably has less than 5,000 miles since rebuilt - I've put less than 1,000 on it) The block is a late 60's 400 (not sure what it originally came out of) It was bored .030 over and the crank was cut. It had new rings and bearings and a Ram Air IV cam installed (also see below) Rhodes lifters (also see below) #16 Pontiac GTO heads which were professionally ported Stainless Steel valves, HD Valve Springs, Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold Demon 750 Double Pumper "Race" Carburetor Hooker Competition Headers. High volume oil pump. New Water Pump, hoses and belts (in 2012) The transmission is a full race turbo 400 ATI with full manual valve body(must be shifted manually - you cant just put it in drive!) The converter is out of a turbo 350 so the stall speed is a few hundred rpm's higher than stock Custom drive shaft The rear is a detroit locker 9" Ford with 3.73 gears. Heavy duty Moser axles (w/extended studs) Full Mandrel bent 3" exhaust w/turbo mufflers (sounds awesome) Car ran 13.50's (on street tires and lots of wheel spin) at Atco! Suspension/Brakes: Front suspension parts (tie rods, ball joints, bushings etc.) replaced in 2005 (very tight) Traction Bars in rear Drum bakes all around Exterior: Has H.O. Graphics Has Ram Air Hood American Racing Rims Firestone Firehawk White Letter Tires (Decent tread (little less on the rear, if you know what I mean - lol) Interior: New Dash Pad Newer Rug (albeit with some discoloration) New Rear Deck with new speakers 'Firebird' AM/FM Cassette player Now, for the not so good: Engine: In 2011 a pushrod broke and that caused a lifter to become concave and wear down a lobe on the cam. I replaced the cam with a Crane Cams camshaft (ram air iv specs), all new hardened push rods, and all new Rhoads Lifters in 2012. Also put on new valve covers. I had thought I got out all the pieces of the broken pushrod, but that may not have been the case. In June 2013, was driving it around when I noticed a significant drop in oil pressure at a traffic light and as I was about to accelerate, a very loud knocking was heard from the engine and it died. I coasted to a stop, fired it up but the knocking was incredibly loud, so I immediately shut her down. (never heard a noise like that before in an engine) Thinking that a piece of pushrod got stuck somewhere and blocked an oil passage, nicked a bearing? No clue. Either way, have not attempted to fix as money has been tight (my son just started college last September) and I don't have the ability to do it myself (nor the tools or the space) for pulling the motor, etc Exterior: Looks great from 20 feet away. (see 1st pic!!) However, there has been rust repair (bondo) around the rear wheel wells There is some areas that have a little minor rust showing now (spot on hood and and couple on roof) Interior: Front seats are from a Chevy Monza (passenger has a slight tear covered with tape) Rear seat has tears on the top covered with tape. New steering wheel, but the horn does not work Amp gauge not hooked up (oil and water are connected) Misc information: Any bids from a bidder with zero feedback will be deleted unless they first contact me.Will do best to help with shipping (at buyers expense of course) but car cannot be driven. (Must be towed)$500 down payment via Paypal.Balance via cash or certified check only. (Will be taken to a bank for verification and must clear before transfer of title)Title transfer will happen at local tag facility (If PA resident, can also give Antique Tag to new owner if desired)That's about it. If you have any questions, will do my best to answer them. Good luck!! On Mar-01-14 at 18:20:39 PST, seller added the following information: Please note: Just want to clarify this is NOT an original 400 equipped car! Don't want anyone to think I am trying to deceive them! On Mar-04-14 at 05:40:07 PST, seller added the following information: Follow-up on one of the questions in which I responded that it was originally a 6cyl car. I did find the PHS documentation and it lists the car as an original 326 w/a 3 speed manual. I'll post the pictures of the documentation tonight. On Mar-04-14 at 17:28:36 PST, seller added the following information: Added a couple shots of the PHS documentation.
