Very nice for its age 1987 HONDA XL600R with 11118 original miles. I am the 4th owner of this super clean, great running example of this yr/model machine. No paint touch ups or refurbishing....bike is original. No Engine leaks !!!(like most of these being sold on ebay) New tires with less than 100 miles on them. Everything works excellent as it should....gauges, signals ,brake lights, high/low beams,etc... New battery. (glass mat) New stator 1000 miles ago .New brakes. O-Ring chain n sprockets in excellent shape with low miles. Oil always kept changed and stays clean between 1000-1500 mile change intervals. Engine pumps 175 lbs cold (This bike has got compression) (top of spec in oem honda manual) compression in 4-5 jabs at kicker. Valves always kept in spec. Chassis tight as its been lubed regularly. Forks and shock work great....no worn out or wallowy components. Wheels round and straight. New brakes in rear and newer in front. New float needles and bowl gaskets recently. New mixture screw o-ring as well. Pilot jet was made from #62 to #65 to not only help with cold starts, but clean up low speed throttle response, add power, and limit decel popping as all motorcycles started getting choked out of fuel during this era to accommodate epa's increasing strictness, which caused cold blooded starts and warm ups with decel popping.Bike starts within 2-5 kicks even in temps as cold as it is here in TN. currently(its cold !). once warm, she lights on 1st kick always(providing you know how to start one of these big bore 4 strokes......ie: no sissy , half effort kicks). Gas tank has no dings or dents and only a couple minor chips in paint. Inside of tank is perfect Fenders are aftermarket replacements and basically new(originals were in good shape but original owner took it upon himself to paint them, which looked like pooh !).Front number plate/headlight bezel is newer oem honda(decal no longer available from honda) .Original side panels have some scratches from original owner falling over (2nd, 3rd owner and myself never had bike in dirt except for yard). Seat is in great condition with the exception of some minor tearing along the bottom left side(shown in pics) I have a brand new original seat cover that will go with this bike to it's next owner. Original tool box intact and good condition with original tool kit inside. Original owners manual also included. Handlebars have brazing on left side at cross brace(i assume someone fell over,bent the bars,bent them back and brazed welded them at some point) They feel as rigid and strong as they should. Rt side bar end weight is missing .Rt side lower triple tree reflector missing. Bike purrs around town effortlessly and rolls comfortably down the highway at speeds up to 80 mph with no drama(bike will most likely run 100 mph if you wanted it to, but its not very heavy and winds affect it somewhat at speeds around 80 or more).The bike has normal wear and tear with scratches here and there and a couple small dings in muffler, but all in all its a very clean and nice bike for its age . It starts and runs excellent and is pretty decent on gas if you're riding it like a citizen. I have a spyder I run around on in the summer ,so, this girl should go to someone whom will enjoy.
